Brand New Cherry Flavor, Netflix’s upcoming miniseries, has released its first teaser trailer, which teases viewers with a twisted storyline and black magic overtones. The show’s official synopsis teases a story about an ambitious film director in 1990 Los Angeles who goes on a mind-altering odyssey of otherworldly revenge that gets nightmarishly out of hand, based on Todd Grimson’s novel of the same name.
Rosa Salazar, best known for Alita: Battle Angel, Catherine Keener who is seen in Get Out, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Being John Malkovich and Mark Acheson star in the series, which was created by Nick Antosca and Lenore Zion.

The trailer doesn’t spend any time getting to the creepy premise. The exploitative relationship between a big-time Hollywood producer (Acheson) and an up-and-coming artist (Salazar) is formed right away. A succession of frightening, agonising pictures in a psychological and metaphysical tornado of mayhem quickly follows. With the voice-over narration “all I wanted to do was produce a movie,” it’s clear that the series is riffing on a common topic, warning naive dreamers about the dangers of getting more than one bargained for.
