Bungou Stray Dogs Season 4 – Everything We Know So Far

Bungou Stray Dogs is a seinen anime series that debuted in April 2016. The manga is written by Kafka Asagiri, while the illustrations are done by Sango Harukawa. In 2012, the manga was serialized in Young Magazine. The manga’s origins may be traced back to the writer’s own vision, in which he intended to bring together a group of deceased artists and reimagine their characters as young adults and teenagers with supernatural abilities.

It was chosen to be aired as a television animation after its initial publication. The anime’s first season premiered on April 7, 2016, to excellent reviews from both fans and critics. Because of the good response, it was instantly renewed for a second season, which premiered in October 2016. After three years, the third season was released, and fans have been eagerly anticipating the fourth season.

Atsushi Nakajima, a young man, is the protagonist of “Bungou Stray Dogs,” He discovers early on in the series’ run that when exposed to moonlight, he transforms into a huge white tiger, similar to a bizarre werewolf.

An investigator named Osamu Dazai recruits Atsushi into the Armed Detective Agency in order to make the best use of his rare skill. Almost every member of the agency has the ability to use magic, which they use to solve crimes that are supernatural in origin and thus beyond the grasp of non-magical humans.

Despite the fact that no official announcement has been made about whether or not a fourth season will be made, various hints point to its release in the near future.

When can we expect Season 4 of Bungou Stray Dogs?

The anime is based on the same-named manga series. As a result, not only is there more material that may be adapted into new episodes, but new material is released on a monthly basis.

Season 3 of “Bungou Stray Dogs” picks up from Chapter 53 of the original manga series. “Bungou Stray Dogs” presently has over 100 chapters. Given that Seasons 1-3 had an average of 17-18 chapters of content animated, there is already enough of a storyline in place for a hypothetical Season 4, provided the series’ adaptation keeps up the same pace.

The anime’s official Twitter account revealed on November 20, 2021, that a fourth season had been green-lit. Crunchyroll has confirmed the announcement, revealing that the new season will be streamed live as it airs in Japan.

For the time being, there is no release date set, but we can make some educated guesses. The first and second seasons were released one after the other, but the third season took approximately three years for the creators to complete. If they stick to the same format, fans will have to wait an extended length of time. If not, the fourth season will most likely premiere in 2022, according to our best guess. However, because no formal announcements have been made, readers should keep in mind that these publication dates are only estimates.

The final five episodes of Season 3 of “Bungou Stray Dogs” are an adaptation of the Cannibalism Arc, a portion of the series’ story. Perhaps most significantly, the arc features Rats in the House of the Dead, a criminal organization led by Fyodor Dostoevsky and nicknamed by Osamu Dazai as “Demon.” Beyond the Cannibalism Arc, Dostoevsky continues to play a role in the manga series, so fans can expect to see him again as the anime progresses.

The Hunting Dogs Arc is the next story arc in the “Bungou Stray Dogs” series. At its core is Decay of Angels, another criminal organization. Dostoevsky is one of the group’s members. Nikolai Gogol, Ochi Fukuchi, Bram Stoker, and Sigma are among the other villains in the organization.

The Hunting Dogs Arc is complete as of March 2022; hence it will most likely serve as the foundation for the fourth season of “Bungou Stray Dogs.”
