Call Of The Night – Everything We Know So Far

The anime adaptation of Call of the Night was recently confirmed, and here’s all you need to know about it.

Vampire shows, whether anime or live-action, is something we can’t get enough of. Vampires, like shamans, demons, titans, and ghouls, have been a constant presence in anime culture. Nobody could have predicted that a western concept would gain such traction in the East. But then again, these blood-sucking creatures are so versatile that they can fit into any genre, from horror to romance.

All manga readers are well aware of how creepy the plot is, and now that it is being animated, it will become even more interesting.

Call of the Night is a popular Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kotoyama that debuted in 2019. The manga is currently ongoing, and it tells the narrative of Ko Yamori, who, on the surface, appears to be an ordinary middle school student. He spends a lot of effort into maintaining this mask while being somewhat competent in academics and friendly with his classmates.

He eventually stops pretending and drops out of school, getting insomnia as a result of not having a daily outlet for his energy. He feels marginally better when he walks alone at night, though he recognizes that his inability to sleep is a severe problem.

On one of these walks, Kou encounters Nazuna Nanakusa, a strange girl who diagnoses the source of his insomnia: despite making improvements in his life, he is still preventing himself from enjoying genuine freedom. He won’t be able to sleep unless he is content with how he spends his waking hours, she claims.

Nazuna invites him back to her flat to share her futon once it looks like she has alleviated his current concerns. She leans over him after a while, oblivious to the fact that he is simply acting slumber, and bites his neck!

Call of the Night has been published in eight volumes so far, and manga fans can now look forward to an anime adaptation later this year.
