The comedy team of Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, creators of The Eric Andre Show and Showtime’s Moonbase 8, has ordered a new comedy series at Netflix that centers on two internet pranksters.
The streaming service has purchased Chad & JT Go Deep, a show starring Chad Kroeger (real name Tom Allen; not the leader of Nickelback) and JT Parr, who are most known for a viral video in which they distributed masks on Huntingdon Beach at the height of the epidemic (see below).
The self-described “stoke lords” of the series, which premieres on August 23, use their activism to raise awareness of significant concerns on the streets of Southern California.
However, they utilize their activism to regain the respect and confidence of the culture when one of their causes unintentionally results in its cancellation.
Their causes range from promoting public perineum sunbathing to defending the nation’s boarders (skateboarders), to marching for little dongs. It’s basically Borat if he were two Southern California surf buddies.
The two are the hosts of the Chad Goes Deep podcast channel and previously gained notoriety for interrupting a council meeting. Their first significant television endeavor is the program.
The firm Heidecker, Wareheim, and Dave Kneebone run, Abso Lutely Productions, is responsible for producing Chad & JT Go Deep in addition to Nathan For You on Comedy Central and Magic For Humans on Netflix.
Along with Tom Allen, John Parr, and Daniel Lucchesi, executive producers include Heidecker, Wareheim, and Kneebone.

The streaming service raised the monthly cost of its Basic plan in the US from $8.99 to $9.99, its Standard plan from $13.99 to $15.49 to allow for more simultaneous streams, and its Premium plan from $17.99 to $19.99 to allow for more mobile devices to view downloaded material.
Prices have also gone up in Canada, where the Basic plan will now set you back 9.99 CAD, the Standard plan 16.49 CAD, and the Premium plan 20.99 CAD.
