Chad, a comedy starring and written by Saturday Night Live alum Nasim Pedrad, is back in class. TBS debuted the first teaser for Season 2 during its TCA slot on Monday, along with a spring premiere date.
Chad struggles with a controversy that ends his presidency prematurely, finds a surprising new love interest, and receives a visit from his tough-as-nails Iranian grandmother — all while worrying about his popularity and learning new ways to connect with his Persian cultural heritage.
Chad’s epic journey to adolescent self-discovery isn’t always smooth, but his family and closest buddy Peter (Jake Ryan) keep him on the course, giving him the courage to help him become who he’s always wanted to be: the most American boy in history.
The Season 2 cast includes Paul Chahidi as Uncle Hamid, Ella Mika as Chad’s sister, Saba Homayoon as Chad’s mother, Alexa Loo as Denise, Niki, and Thomas Barbusca as Reid. Sara Malal Rowe has been added to the cast as well. With co-showrunner Max Searle, Pedrad co-show runs and executive producer. Chad was executive produced and co-developed by Rob Rossell, with 3 Arts’ Oly Obst serving as an executive producer.
