Demonic, the latest film from writer-director Neill Blomkamp and AGC Studios, will be released in theatres and on VOD on August 20th via IFC Midnight. Blomkamp’s first film, a sci-fi allegory about immigration called District 9, received critical praise. With the films Elysium and Chappie, he had even more success.

The movie follows the story of a girl who unleashes unforeseen demons. When supernatural powers at the root of a decades-old schism between mother and daughter are mercilessly revealed in this horror-thriller from director Neill Blomkamp, a young woman unleashes horrific demons.
The film employs a patent-pending volumetric capture technique which is a three-dimensional video technology that turns actors into geometric objects. Demonic features the most volumetric capture ever seen in a movie film.
Last summer, AGC Studios and STABILITi Studios co-financed and co-produced Demonic. It’s Blomkamp’s fourth feature picture. Blomkamp is joined by Austyn Daines, an editor from Oats Studios.

Carly Pope, Chris William Martin, and Michael Rogers feature in the film. Producers include Neill Blomkamp, Mike Blomkamp of STABILITi Studios, Stuart Ford, and Linda McDonough of AGC Studios. Alastair Burlingham, Miguel Palos Jr, Viktor Muller, Charlie Dombek, and Steven St. Arnaud of AGC are executive producers.
