Ditched’s adventure begins with an ambulance crashing down a dark, isolated road late at night. Ditched will have its international premiere at the Popcorn Frights Film Festival in Miami on Saturday, August 14th.

The movie synopsis is as follows. A young Inuit paramedic finds herself surrounded by killers with only 100 feet to climb out of a ditch to escape when a routine jail transport crashes in the forest. When they are ambushed in the jungle by an unknown entity, her brief journey to safety becomes a battle of wills.

Ditched is a horror-thriller with a lot of 80’s inspiration. It was shot in Edmonton, Canada, and contains a pulsing synth soundtrack with guitar elements by musician Clayton Worbeck. The scenario was devised as a “What would you do if you were practically in the middle of nowhere, injured, and being hunted by “something” in the night?” by writer/director Christopher Donaldson. This idea was thought to be a fundamental anxiety and forms the foundation of the plot, which suddenly takes a turn you won’t see coming.
Christopher Donaldson wrote and directed Ditched, which stars Marika Sila,an indigenous actress who also specialises in acrobatics and special skills like as hoop dancing, fire spinning, sword, and staff handling, stars in Ditched.Other people in key roles include Mackenzie Gray, Lindsay Robinson, and Kris Loranger.
The 7th Annual Popcorn Frights Film Festival will take held in both theatres and online from August 12th to 19th.A percentage of the festival’s proceeds will go to individuals affected by the building collapse in Surfside, Florida.
Although Christopher and Mark Sommer are first-time filmmakers, they have each had a long career in film, television, and music and we can’t wait to see the final result!
