Chloe Zhao All Set To Work On A Reimagination Of ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’ With A Dash Of Sci-Fi

The 1992 American horror gothic film ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’ was a monumental step in vampires. The film was directed by Francis Ford Coppola and based on the 1897 novel of the same name by Stoker. Having won eight awards and nominated for up to eleven more, the film has received much-deserved appreciation and also given birth to the modern-day vampire movies and TV shows we see. Coppola has successfully adapted another great novel into a memorable film- ‘Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.’ Now, Chinese filmmaker and director of the upcoming Marvel’s ‘Eternals,’ Chloé Zhao is onboard to work on a brand-new reboot of ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula.’

    The project is in development

Universal Pictures brought on Zhao to work on this project and “reimagine one of the most iconic outsider characters ever created.” The Hollywood Reporter has claimed that although this is something fans will be excited about, it will not be the same as the original, and depending on how open-minded one is, they may love or hate the film. Zhao will give it a new twist by pushing it into the sci-fi genre, giving it her personal touch as she mostly makes similar films. Chloé Zhao has expressed her excitement for working with the Universal Pictures team.
