When Is Clerks III (2022) Releasing?

The third film in the distinctly Gen-X series Clerks, which examines the advantages and disadvantages of being, well, a convenience store clerk, has just received a new poster from Lionsgate. Fathom Events will distribute the new movie, with screenings scheduled for September 13 and September 15.

The new image features Randal Graves and Dante Hicks, two well-known figures in the Clerks universe created by filmmaker Kevin Smith. The two characters are being shown standing behind their dependable counter, nearly thirty years older than they were in the 1994 film’s initial scene with them. Behind them are Smith’s mascots Jay and Silent Bob, who are friends. The poster’s clever statement, “They’re too old for this shift,” makes fun of the movie and the ages of the actors.

In addition to the newest poster, Lionsgate also unveiled a brand-new teaser for the movie, giving us a glimpse at the long-overdue third entry in the movie series. For Dante and Randal, who are respectively portrayed by Brian O’Halloran and Jeff Anderson, the trailer starts off with business as usual. The two clerks are going about their everyday lives in a routinely manner while comparing their pals to Star Wars characters and scrutinising their lives as though they were a text (even still). Up until Randal suffers a heart attack, that is.

Randal, who is now much more conscious of his own death, is trying to make the most of his existence, which he now perceives as being far too brief. In the end, Randal chooses to focus on a subject that he is most knowledgeable about: movies. With a renewed sense of purpose, Randal, Dante, Jay, and Silent Bob will embark on the production of a film that, well, chronicles the lives of convenience store workers.

The third movie will feature some fresh faces as well as the return of certain adored characters and performers from Clerks II, including Jason Mewes as Jay. Ben Affleck, Justin Long, and Fred Armisen are just a few of the appearances that are hinted at in the video.

Clerks has evolved but hasn’t matured from a black and white independent film created on a pitiful $27,575 budget (and it shows) to a cult classic whose characters have their faces on (cough cough) “water pipes”. Clerks III will soon grace screens with its brilliant, witty conversational comedy focused on the lower middle class existence, over thirty years after the groundbreaking movie Clerks was written by God herself and given to the best director in the world. This movie could be the one where the boys finally accomplish their lofty goals after failing to put their big ideas into action for so long.

The conclusion of the Clerks trilogy won’t be delayed for long, disappointing fans of the series. The third instalment of Clerks, directed by Kevin Smith, will be released on September 13, 2022.

The teaser for the forthcoming stoner comedy was published on Smith’s personal YouTube website on July 6. In addition to the teaser, listeners may discover scene studies from Smith’s early films on his podcast FatMan Beyond, where he discusses sci-fi and superhero-related topics in general.

The third instalment of Clerks will be the most meta thing to ever appear in Kevin Smith’s universe. Yes, this is more meta than when characters from Chasing Amy said that Chasing Amy could never be a movie after watching Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

After throwing Dante his bachelor party, the pair returned to their old employment at the Quick Stop singing while smoking and chewing gum because, as the saying goes, “Boys, it’s necessary to have a job that matters.” Randall resolves to quit spending his time watching movies and start making one after nearly escaping a heart attack (much like Smith himself). Randall’s first movie is about him working at the Quik-e-Stop with his closest buddy Dante. Jay and Silent Bob, who he compares to C-3PO and R2-D2, who he describes as the C-3PO and R2-D2 of their life at the corner shop, are played by actors in the movie. We also find it hard to believe Judi Dench played Dante!

The movie will follow the group of pals as they produce the movie of a lifetime and experience all the stoned mayhem that goes along with a View Askewniverse production. There will be quite a few throwbacks to the first two films in Clerks III, like Chewlie’s gum, rooftop hockey, the “I guarantee you” sign, and the notice on their register asking you to let them know in case you plan on shoplifting. Even the original Dante’s death scene from the first Clerks movie, which was ultimately removed because Smith said he didn’t know how to conclude a movie, is referenced. Additionally, it appears that Smith will make fun of himself and the personas he has developed over the years as part of the stoner humour.

The third instalment of the Clerks series was filmed in the same corner store where Kevin Smith used to work before moving to Hollywood, in his home state of New Jersey. The little shop, with its shelves stocked with smokes, munchies, and toilet paper, has been featured in a number of Smith’s View Askewniverse movies. The majority of Clerks III was filmed in the store, which is situated in the strip mall where Kevin Smith’s SModcast podcasting theatre, where viewers may see a monthly live broadcast of his smart, nerdy podcasts, formerly stood.

Ladies and gentlemen, Silent Bob and Jay are in the house! Without Silent Bob, played by writer-director Kevin Smith, and his slick-talking platonic life partner Jay (Jason Mewes), there wouldn’t be a Clerks movie. The actors from the movies themselves, Jeff Anderson, who is recognised by viewers as the obnoxious movie expert Randall, and Brian O’Halloran, who is recognised as Dante in the Smith-verse but isn’t even meant to be in the present day, are both making a comeback.

The bespectacled, boyfriend-stealing, down-to-earth cool girl Becky Scott, who formerly operated the neighbourhood Mooby’s fast food store, will be played by Rosario Dawson, who joined the Clerks cast in Clerks II. Elias (Trevor Fehrman), the youthful, devout Lord of the Rings enthusiast who works at Mooby’s, appears to have taken a clerk position at the Quick Stop with his older, hipper coworkers.

When Ben Affleck shows there, the Quick Stop team will undoubtedly inquire as to why his neck is in their woods. Smith’s longtime pal Justin Long, comedian Fred Armisen, and 90s scream queen Sarah Michelle Gellar will all make cameos as well.

Smith and the Lionsgate distribution team may choose to revert to the 1990s and distribute the movie in cinemas in this age of straight-to-stream movies. When the third Clerks movie will be streamable online is still unknown. We do hope that it will cost exactly $15 when it is ready for purchase, little chap.

The ideal way to watch the movie once you can do so from the comfort of your own home—aside from with some snoochi boochi noochies—might be with a Mooby’s burger of your own. The Mooby’s pop-up eating experience, replete with merchandise to buy and movie props (and occasionally stars) for picture opportunities, was introduced in 2020 by vegan Kevin Smith. If a pop-up location is not available near you, you may still order Mooby’s online by selecting the Mooby’s meal kit option.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to post a review of the movie you just saw on the now-gone moviepoopshoot website. In Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, a prank that was later developed into a real entertainment news website was shut down. Certain members of the audience would undoubtedly say that the movie was clown shoes in the hopes that Jay and Silent Bob would find us and strangle us with a phone wire. After all, everyone in America now has a voice thanks to the Internet. Everyone chooses to b*tch about movies using that voice for whatever reason.

The first two Clerks movies, if not the whole View Askewniverse collection, are ideal to see again right now, but some of the filthy movies could be more difficult to locate than others.

The View Askewniverse movie, starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, is regrettably not accessible for streaming or digital download. To see the movie, a physical copy must be purchased. You may get the movie on VHS if you want to be a real throwback (through Amazon). That’s how we did it back in the 1990s, after all!
