Top 60 Comedy Anime Of All Time

Some anime series take themselves too seriously, but there’s a whole subgenre of comedy anime, and here are some of our favorites!

In anime, humor is underrated, often overshadowed by action-packed fight scenes and colorful romances. Nevertheless, almost every anime has some comic moments, even when the show revolves around a serious subject.

In comedy anime, there are many different styles and stories to choose from. Several satirize overused anime tropes, while others mix wittiness with action-adventure. Every comedic anime is unique, and no two are alike. These comedies are easy to fall in love with after only a few episodes.

As the medium gains fans with each passing year, comedy anime seems to only gain in popularity. Many anime series features a lighthearted aspect of humor, but a few stand out as prime examples of how funny anime can be.

Comedy series rely on writing and voice acting to succeed, but anime also has visual gags and facial expressions that enhance the distinct personalities of its shows – such as those below.

    Gintama

    Gintama

Taking over feudal Japan is a race of aliens called the Amanto, who have invaded Earth from outer space. As a result, swords are prohibited in Japan, and samurai in Japan are treated with disregard due to this.

A man, Gintoki Sakata, is still a samurai at heart, despite his love for sweets and work as a yorozuya. Along with him in his jack-of-all-trades line of work are Shinpachi Shimura, a boy with glasses and a strong heart; Kagura with her umbrella and seemingly bottomless stomach; and Sadaharu, their oversized pet.

These odd jobs are certainly not always simple, as they frequently have run-ins with the police, ragtag rebels, and assassins, oftentimes with humorous but unfortunate results.

The life of an errand boy isn’t easy, right?

Gintama certainly is consistent in its approach, even though the story is somewhat haphazard. In Gintoki’s world, he and friends Shimura Shinpachi and Kagura perform odd jobs for people, argue with the Shinsengumi, consume strawberry milkshakes, and strive to make a small impact on the world.

Most of the episodes don’t go any further than that. In Gintama, the story is told in a haphazard manner that works well since it is a comedy series. Despite its serious and dramatic content and some story arcs, Gintama never loses its sense of humor.

Comedy is a major strength of the series, not just in style and delivery but also in content. The series is packed with parodies, but the humor is always engaging enough so that the viewer doesn’t miss the joke.

    Mob Psycho 100

    Mob Psycho 100

At a young age, Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama has tapped into his inner wellspring of psychic ability. When he realizes how dangerous his skills are, the power quickly proves to be a liability. In choosing to suppress his power, Mob’s only current use for it is to impress his longtime crush, Tsubomi, who quickly grows tired of the same tricks he performs.

In order to control his powers, Mob enlists the help of Arataka Reigen, who is a conman who pretends to be psychic and exploits Mob’s abilities for pocket change. It has become routine for Mob to exorcise evil spirits on command.

The psychic energy he exerts, however, is barely the tip of the iceberg. If his vast potential and unrestrained emotions become uncontrolled, a cataclysmic event will occur that will render him unrecognizable. Mob’s explosion is gaining momentum and stopping it is futile.

There are a million ways to describe Mob Psycho 100. It’s exciting, to put it simply. Initially, the story seems simple, and in the beginning, it is, but as the series goes on, it explores a variety of topics, such as morality and what it means to be different. But the story is not just about Mob, but also about other characters.

As an anime, Mob Psycho 100 looks and feels very different. The style is very over-the-top, exaggerated, and weird, which fits the tone of the series. You won’t see it very often, so it’s supposed to be weird and quirky. However, it is much more than a comedy. Throughout the series, there are a number of emotional and serious moments.

    Great Teacher Onizuka

    Great Teacher Onizuka

Eikichi Onizuka is a 22-year-old ex-biker gang leader, conqueror of Shonan, and virgin; he dreams of being the greatest high school teacher in all of Japan. This isn’t because he has a passion for teaching, but rather because he wants a teenage wife when he’s old and gray.

Even so, Onizuka is more than a perverted, greedy, and lazy delinquent. In the end, when he is hired as the homeroom teacher for the notorious Class 3-4 at Holy Forest Academy, despite having suplexed the Vice Principal, all of his skills are put to the test since this class is especially notorious.

The students in the class treat all teachers with such utter contempt that they use psychological warfare to break any new homeroom teacher they have, forcing them to quit and leave school. Onizuka, however, isn’t your typical teacher, and he is always up for a challenge.

He sees his students face bullying, suicide, and sexual harassment every day. Addressing the underlying causes of their problems, Onizuka offers unconventional solutions-even if it means jumping off a building to save a child who is suicidal. With his eccentric charm and fun-loving attitude, Class 3-4 slowly learns how enjoyable school can be when you’re a pupil of the Great Teacher Onizuka.

Although the plot is somewhat cliched, there are some clever twists and plot devices that keep the viewer on their toes. Watch the anime for its pure fun value, even though it conveys a certain moral message. Laughter and tears are guaranteed, and you might even cry.

GTO isn’t one of the most original anime series, but similar to some of the best modern anime, it takes tried and true concepts and injects a heavy dose of fresh, humorous attitude to create a thoroughly entertaining show.

Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen

Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen

Both Miyuki Shirogane and Kaguya Shinomiya are among the key student representatives at Shuchiin Academy. As the president of the student council, Miyuki is regarded by peers and mentors alike as among the top students in the country. In addition to him, Vice President Kaguya, who is the daughter of the wealthy Shinomiya family, excels in every field. The pair is the envy of all of their classmates as they are regarded as the perfect couple.

Even though both have already developed feelings for each other, neither will admit their feelings to the other. In this case, the first to confess losses is looked down upon and is considered the lesser. Kaguya and Miyuki are equally determined to be the one who emerges victorious on the battlefield of love, their honor, and pride at stake!

It is an excruciatingly relatable story. Even when they fail, it is entertaining to watch their misguided approach to love and their clever mind games. Both of them are walking disasters. To mock them for this, the show employs irony, sarcasm, and other sarcastic supporting characters.

The wildly contrasting tones, visual excitement, and music create a dynamic comedic experience. The series features a lot of character interaction as well as a silent monologue between our two main characters. The plot twist is that the characters’ true selves are different from who they appear to be to others.

It can be terrifying to confess your love to someone. Growing up is even harder. Kaguya and Miyuki gradually work their way through their tangled emotions. This show features perfectly timed jokes, expert directing, and relatable characters. It subverts the standard tropes of the genre in an interesting way, regardless of whether you like anime rom coms or not.

    Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan

    Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan

Psychic abilities may seem like a blessing to the average individual, but for Kusuo Saiki, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Despite having a wide range of supernatural abilities, from telepathy to x-ray vision, he views them as nothing but a curse. Kusuo’s power continuously causes him inconveniences, so all he wants is an ordinary, hassle-free existence, where ignorance is bliss.

Psychics live a far from quiet life. Kusuo tries to keep his powers hidden from his classmates, but he ends up attracted to many odd characters, including the empty-headed Riki Nendou and the delusional Shun Kaidou. Having to deal with the craziness of the people around him, Kusuo realizes that the ordinary life he has been striving for is much more difficult than expected.

All episodes have a core story, but the main story, in which Kusuo has special powers, remains the same. There are some surprises along the way.

All of the characters are well-developed and unique, and they all clearly relate to one another. All of Saiki’s family members, classmates, and anyone he meets are weirdos. Every one of them is hilarious and awesome in their own way, and they won’t leave him alone.

This anime is so enjoyable because of the variety of ways psychic powers can be used. Every episode feels very different from the others because of their multiple purposes.

This anime will have you laughing all the time, as the humor itself is quite fast-paced and manages to be funny all the time. There is just enough screen time for all of the side characters to become memorable, yet they never feel overused.

    One Piece

    One Piece

As the strongest and most infamous person to have sailed the Grand Line, Gol D. Roger was known as the “Pirate King.” Roger was captured by the World Government and executed, which was a turning point in history. In his last moments, he revealed the existence of the greatest treasure in the world, One Piece.

As a result of this discovery, the Grand Age of Pirates was born, with men dreaming of finding One Piece, a treasure trove of riches and fame that would give them the title of Pirate King.

There is 17-year-old Monkey D. Luffy, a boy who defies the traditional definition of a pirate. Unlike the popular image of a wicked, hardened, toothless pirate ransacking villages for fun, Luffy has a pure wonder for being a pirate: the anticipation of an exciting adventure that will expose him to fascinating people and, ultimately, the promised treasure.

Luffy and his crew follow in the footsteps of his childhood hero, traveling the Grand Line, experiencing crazy adventures, unraveling dark mysteries, and beating strong enemies in order to reach the most coveted of all fortunes—One Piece.

You will fall in love with each member as Luffy discovers them. Each character has an interesting backstory and a unique personality. While trying to accomplish their dreams, the crew is always finding new adventures and getting into trouble. Besides the Straw Hat crew, new minor characters are also introduced in the main story arcs.

The characters don’t feel left out or like they have no purpose. In One Piece, every character has a purpose, and these ‘purposes’ often reappear at later points in the series.

    Cowboy Bebop

    Cowboy Bebop

Humanity colonized several planets and moons in the solar system by 2071, leaving Earth’s uninhabitable surface. Outlaw bounty hunters, referred to as “Cowboys,” help the Inter Solar System Police maintain peace in the galaxy. The ragtag team aboard the spaceship Bebop consists of two such bounty hunters.

With Jet Black, Spike Spiegel’s boisterous and pragmatic partner, the pair chase bounties and collect rewards as a living. When Ein, a highly intelligent genetically engineered Welsh Corgi, Faye Valentine, an enigmatic trickster with memory loss, and the mysterious young computer wiz Edward Wong join the team on their journey, embarking on thrilling adventures that reveal each member’s dark and mysterious past.

With its balance of high-density action and lighthearted comedy, Cowboy Bebop is a space Western classic as well as a tribute to the smooth and improvised music that inspired it.

Each episode brings about a new bounty for which they’re hunting, and while 26 straight episodes might not seem thrilling, you’ll love this show. As a result of all the different events, the outcome is often unpredictable, and you wonder how it will all end.

Among the things that make the show stand out from others is the way in which the pasts of the main cast are explored. It’s not like watching one flashback episode and then understanding how the characters are now.

The first piece might arrive in one episode, the next in another, and everything will come together in the final three episodes. By executing it in this way, it makes you want to watch another episode to learn more about the characters.

    Bakuman

    Bakuman

Moritaka Mashiro thought that he would become a mangaka someday, in the same way as his childhood hero and uncle, Tarou Kawaguchi, who is the creator of a popular gag manga. But tragedy strikes, and he gives up on his dream and spends his middle school years studying in order to become a salaryman instead.

Moritaka’s classmate Akito Takagi, a star student, and aspiring writer, notices Moritaka’s detailed drawings in his notebook. Akito, recognizing the potential of Moritaka’s artistic talent, proposes they be mangakas together.

With much convincing, Moritaka realizes that if he can create a popular manga series, he may be able to convince the girl he likes, Miho Azuki, to participate in the anime adaptation as a voice actor. So they start creating manga under the pen name Muto Ashirogi, hoping to become the greatest mangaka in Japan.

A long journey filled with laughter, cheers, tears, courage, and romance awaits. There are a lot of twists and drama in our mangakas’ personal lives, which makes for a more engaging story than one might expect. The story is so well written and engrossing that it will make you wish that a number of the stories and ideas the characters come up with for their manga were true.

The greatest strength of Bakuman is not its story but its characters. Mangakas Mashiro and Takagi make for great leads as they provide insight into the struggles mangakas face in order to get serialized and remain serialized. Despite ups and downs, they always keep pushing forward together because they care for one another deeply.

    Ansatsu Kyoushitsu

    Ansatsu Kyoushitsu

As a mysterious creature chops the moon into a permanent crescent, the students of class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Middle School are faced with an impossible task: assassinate the creature before Earth meets the same fate.

However, the creature, known as Koro-sensei, can fly at speeds of up to Mach 20, which he displays freely, leaving any attempt to subdue him in the dust. Moreover, the misfits of 3-E soon discover the strange, tentacled beast is more than just indomitable-he is their greatest teacher!

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu follows the story of these junior high school pupils as they refine their assassination skills and grow to stand against the oppressive school system, their own problems, and, one day, Koro-sensei.

In the industry of anime and manga, this anime has one of the most original stories and works with its main theme of assassination and education to articulate numerous other topics, including friendship, failure and defeat, class and discrimination, and human perseverance.

There are many didactic and morally powerful lessons in Ansatsu Kyoushitsu, which are not only motivational but also inspiring.

As well as helping students with their personal and educational troubles, Koro-sensei seeks out their problems and shows them the connections they share through assassination and education.

Assassination plays a vital role in allowing the characters to learn more about each other and about Koro-sensei, and ultimately, this allows them to grow as individuals as well as collectively.

No matter how harsh or dejected reality may be, one must persevere and work their way through to achieve improvement.

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru

The apathetic high school student Hashiman Hikigaya has narcissistic and semi-nihilistic tendencies. It is his firm belief that joyful youth is nothing more than a farce, and anyone who claims otherwise is only deceiving themselves.

Hachiman is forced into the Volunteer Service Club as a punishment for writing an essay mocking modern social relationships. This is a club whose aim is to extend a helping hand to any student seeking support in achieving their goals.

Having only one other club member, the beautiful ice queen Yukino Yukinoshita, Hachiman now finds himself in the middle of other people’s problems, something he never expected to be in. When Hachiman and Yukino try to solve many of the problems that students face, will Hachiman’s rotten view of society be a hindrance or something he can use to his advantage?

This anime isn’t the first to tackle the anti-social protagonist, but its characters and deadpan writing do a great job of capturing it. While you may go into this expecting a typical rom-com, you will instead be surprised. This is what makes this anime different from so many others in the genre. It’s charming, funny, and yet bluntly realistic.

In this story, we get a glimpse of those in school who have been rejected so much that they decide to play by their own rules, which excludes everyone else. After all, it’s much easier to get on by when you only have yourself to rely on. This show is hilarious at its core, and the MC’s biting sense of humor and harsh views of the world is hilarious.

    One Punch Man

    One Punch Man

Saitama, who appears ordinary and unimpressive, has a rather unique hobby: he is a hero. To fulfill his childhood dream, he trained relentlessly for three years, losing all of his hair in the process. Now Saitama is so powerful that no enemy is able to defeat him in battle. Since all it takes to defeat evildoers is just one punch, he is no longer able to enjoy the battle and has become quite bored.

Genos, a 19-year-old cyborg, who sees what Saitama can do, wishes to be Saitama’s disciple. Genos recommends the two join the Hero Association so that they will be recognized for their positive contributions to society. Saitama stunned that no one knows who he is, readily agrees.

It is thus that we begin the story of One Punch Man, an action-comedy that follows an eccentric individual desperate to fight tough enemies who will give him the excitement he once felt, and maybe he will become popular as a result.

There is a lot of power in Saitama. It’s boring to be the strongest. The concept of looking for someone stronger or at least entertaining through life is a funny one, especially when no one is aware of how strong you are.

It’s impossible not to like Saitama, even the secondary and tertiary characters. It doesn’t have great character development, but that’s not what you’re looking for in this anime. Saitama is the strongest character. It’s meant to be that way.

While watching an episode, it’s easy to lose yourself in it, and you won’t believe how fast time moves when you’re entertained.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!

Kazuma Satou, a high school student, and recluse dies a laughable and pathetic death on his way back from buying a video game. He then finds himself sitting before a beautiful yet obnoxious goddess named Aqua. She offers the NEET two options: either continue on to heaven or reincarnate in a fantasy world that every gamer dreams about!

After choosing to start a new life, Kazuma is given the task of defeating a Demon King who is terrorizing villages. Before he leaves, he is given the opportunity to choose one item of his choice to help him on his quest, and the future hero chooses Aqua. Kazuma, however, made a grave error – Aqua is completely useless!

Their struggles don’t end here; it turns out that living in such a world is very different from what it is like in a video game. Instead of embarking on a thrilling adventure, the two must first work to pay for their living expenses. However, their misfortunes have just begun!

While other shows tell great stories or explore philosophy and other themes, KonoSuba focuses on pure entertainment! With hilarious albeit niche comedy, any flaws that this show may have are parodied to still be enjoyable. Since you can’t even tell whether all of these “flaws” are intentional or not, there isn’t much to criticize about this show.

Despite its outrageousness, it manages to execute it in a way that is lighthearted and hilarious. Instead of pursuing a serious story, it focuses on day-to-day shenanigans that make fun of stereotypes, like character tropes and MMO characteristics. KonoSuba is an amazing anime to just sit down and relax to.

    Haikyuu!!

    Haikyuu!!

Shouyou Hinata, a small-statured middle school student, revives the volleyball team at his middle school after watching “Little Giant,” a volleyball ace. Even though the newly-formed team reaches a tournament, they are brutally crushed by the “King of the Court,” Tobio Kageyama, in their first match.

In an effort to surpass Kageyama, Hinata joins the volleyball team of Karasuno High School after graduating from middle school—only to find that his sworn rival has become his teammate.

Hinata’s short height makes it difficult for him to find his place on the team, despite his superior jumping ability. It turns out that Kageyama also has problems that only Hinata can help solve, and learning to work together is the only way to be successful. An exhilarating and emotional sports comedy follows two determined volleyball players as they attempt to patch up their heated rivalry in order to make their high school volleyball team the best in the country.

There are some pretty typical shounen stereotypes involved. Teamwork, perseverance, an underdog, etc. But Haikyuu!! combines each of these themes beautifully.

These players are not the best volleyball players in the world, and they are relatively inexperienced. In addition, there is no sudden ‘level-up’ or inexplicable achievement. As a result, we get a well-written and paced story that follows the Karasuno from their formation to their entry into high school volleyball.

Players form relationships in a variety of ways, including as friends, teammates, classmates in different school years, or members of a cohesive team against other teams. Volleyball falls somewhere in the middle. You can see why it’s so beloved by the characters, and you can see how their love developed.

    Nichijou

    Nichijou

Nichijou primarily follows the daily life of a trio of childhood friends – Mio Naganohara, Yuuko Aioi, and Mai Minakami – whose stories soon intertwine with those of the young genius Hakase Shinonome, Nano, her robot caretaker, and their talking cat Sakamoto.

Each day, these six, as well as the many people around them, endure the calms of everyday life and the insanity of the absurd. Everyday life in Nichijou includes walking to school, being bitten by a crow, hanging out with friends, and witnessing the principal suplex a deer.

Nichijou combines gags, moes, slice-of-life, and slapstick comedy. The tone of Nichijou is very lighthearted; its jokes are loose and fast-paced, and while the pace of each episode changes continuously, Nichijou never seems to take itself very seriously.

With each episode’s structure, there is a great deal of unpredictability. Whether it’s a hilarious dialogue scene, a fast-paced action sequence, an amusing still image, or an unrelated but hilarious skit, you never know what’s going to happen next. However, in spite of this seemingly chaotic approach, Nichijou manages to maintain a good balance between all its various styles so that no episode feels too heavy.

The haphazard approach may seem counter-intuitive for a slice-of-life anime, but Nichijou’s unconventional approach adds another layer of absurdity to the series. Nichijou’s characters’ greatest strength is not their individuality but how they interact. Character groups clash, contrast, and complement one another in extremely interesting ways.

    Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon

    Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon

Kobayashi prepares to leave for work when she opens the door of her apartment and sees a dragon’s head staring at her across the balcony. It immediately transforms into a cute, busty, and energetic young girl dressed in a maid outfit who introduces herself as Tooru.

The stoic programmer found the mythical beast the night before on a drunken excursion to the mountains, and since it had nowhere else to go, she offered it a place to stay in her home.

As a result, Tooru had arrived to take advantage of the offer, ready to repay her savior’s kindness by becoming her personal maidservant. Kobayashi is deeply regretful of her words and reluctant to keep her promise, but a mixture of guilt and Tooru’s amazing dragon abilities convince her to take the girl in.

She is incredibly efficient at her job, but the maid’s orthodox methods of housekeeping often end up horrifying Kobayashi and cause more trouble than good. In addition, the circumstances behind the dragon’s arrival on Earth are much more complicated than they seem at first glance, as Tooru has some painful memories and heavy emotions.

As if that wasn’t enough, Tooru’s presence ends up attracting several other mythical beings to her new home, bringing with them a variety of eccentric personalities. Although Kobayashi does her best to deal with the situation, this new life with a dragon maid has been more than she could have ever imagined.

When it comes to a story, sometimes simple is best. Nothing in Dragon Maid seems contrived but more so plays out like a situational comedy.

    Grand Blue

    Grand Blue

After moving to Izu for his freshman year at its university, Iori Kitahara takes up residence above his uncle’s scuba diving shop, Grand Blue. It’s Iori’s dream to have the ideal college experience, yet he is sucked into the alcoholic activities of the carefree Diving Club members who frequent the shop.

Iori reluctantly joins the bizarre party of upperclassmen Shinji Tokita and Ryuujirou Kotobuki after being persuaded by them. Later, his cousin Chisa Kotegawa walks in and catches him in the act, Iori earning her utter disdain.

The story follows Iori as he tries to achieve his ideal college dream while learning how to scuba dive.

Compared to high school, college is like entering a society where some people follow the rules while others make their own. With its adult humor, diving elements, and drinking shenanigans, Grand Blue explores the carefree life of an adult. Once you realize what you’re in for, it’s hard not to laugh your ass off.

Grand Blue presents a slice of young adult culture that is centered around society and culture. The show often makes fun of its characters. It is a parody of stereotypes of college life, like young adults drinking and partying.

Lastly, there is meta-humor, which plays with jokes in a nuanced way. In addition, it is self-aware in that it does not hide its humor. The characters often act unapologetically regardless of the consequences, which often irritates others.

By glorifying its humor, this show appears to be a joke. You will fall in love with Grand Blue’s themes once you get sucked into it. With its adult humor and character gags, it is an anime that plays with itself.

    Baccano!

    Baccano!

In the 1930s, Flying Pussyfoot, the legendary transcontinental train departing from Chicago, will leave a trail of blood across the nation. On the other hand, in New York, researcher Szilard and his reluctant associate Ennis are hunting for lost bottles of the immortality elixir.

Moreover, the war between mafia groups is intensifying. Alchemists on board the Advena Avis are about to discover the price of immortality in 1711.

Several seemingly unrelated events are interwoven into one story of alchemy, survival, and immortality, even though they occur at different times and places. Isaac and Miria, two kindhearted thieves who would like to get rich, bring these events together, connecting various people, each with their own hidden agendas and ambitions, and creating bonds and consequences for everyone involved.

Baccano! has a good balance of drama, action, and comedy. Every character is very well designed and as unique as their voices, from Isaac Dian and Miria Harvest to the psychopathic Ladd Russo. Among an excellent cast of characters, Isaac and Miria stand out as the most memorable. They effectively act as the story’s glue.

The story of Baccano is very straightforward. When it comes to storytelling, the style of how the story is told usually gets the most attention. Baccano! uses a non-sequential storytelling approach. Even though this isn’t new, it adds to the enjoyment by eliminating the universally derided “downtime” episodes.

The story consists of several intertwined storylines. You may be confused by the characters and events at first. After the initial shock of being thrown into the middle of a story, you will be engrossed in an intriguing, fast-paced, and entertaining story that leaves you wanting more.

    Barakamon

    Barakamon

A young, handsome, talented calligrapher named Seishuu Handa is, unfortunately, a narcissist as well. When a veteran labels Seishuu’s award-winning piece “unoriginal,” he loses his cool and suffers serious consequences.

To the Goto Islands, Seishuu is sent by his father as punishment and to aid in his self-reflection. It’s a far cry from the comfortable lifestyle the temperamental artist is used to in Tokyo. A rural setting forces Seishuu to find new inspiration and develop his own unique style of art-if the boisterous children, led by the mercurial Naru Kotoishi, the fujoshi middle schoolers, and the energetic old men can keep off his doorstep!

Goto Island is far from the peaceful countryside that he expected when he signed up for the small and quirky community. As a result of his wacky neighbors unable to mind their own business, the arrogant calligrapher learns so much more than he ever expected.

A series such as Barakamon shows that there are many ways to create an exciting anime without aliens, magic, or love triangles. Barakamon does not tell a tale of good triumphing over evil or true love between two people, but rather of the fact that our mundane daily lives are compelling enough, no matter what the circumstances are.

Barakamon’s story revolves around its characters. This story follows Handa Seishuu, a 23-year-old calligrapher prone to anger and misfortune, and his friendship with villagers who consistently screw him over. Towards the end of the anime, he has not undergone a great transformation but simply enjoys human companionship.

Instead of using melodrama to develop characters, Barakamon chooses to develop them gradually and in a realistic manner. While Handa and the characters often seem immature, Barakamon is surprisingly mature.

    Kamisama Hajimemashita

    Kamisama Hajimemashita

Nanami Momozono is a high school student who has many problems of late, which starts with her absentee father being so indebted that they lose everything. She encounters a man being harassed by a dog while homeless and downtrodden. She explains her situation to him after helping him, and to her surprise, he offers her his home in return.

As soon as she discovers the home is a rundown shrine, she tries to leave, but two shrine spirits and a fox familiar called Tomoe stop her from leaving. She is mistaken for Mikage, the land god of the shrine Nanami rescued. Tomoe, realizing that Mikage had sent her there as a replacement god, leaves abruptly, refusing to serve a human.

Nanami, rather than returning to being homeless, immerses herself in her divine duties. A certain hot-headed fox will be needed if she is to keep things running smoothly. As she fumbles to find Tomoe, she lands in trouble and ends up signing a contract with him. The two must now traverse godhood together as god and familiar; but the path will not be easy, for new threats appear in the form of a youkai who wants to devour the girl, a snake who wants to marry her, and Nanami’s own unexpected feelings for her new familiar.

This is a lighthearted, sweet story that involves some supernatural occurrences. Hence, it makes for an excellent romantic comedy. Overall, the series is lighthearted. Nanami and Tomoe’s strange relationship dominates this series, with the comedy outweighing the romance.

Despite Kamisama Hajimemashita’s generic storyline, it still manages to be memorable. A primary aspect of the plot is how well it explains character motivations and backstories, but the primary aspect is how well it keeps the viewer engaged.

    NHK ni Youkoso!

    NHK ni Youkoso!

Tatsuhiro Satou is a 22-year-old college dropout who has been a hikikomori for almost four years now. In his isolation, he has developed an undeniable faith in many obscure conspiracy theories, but there is one, in particular, that has become an unbreakable part of him: the theory that the evil conspirator behind his NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training) status is the Nihon Hikikomori Kyokai (NHK), a secret organization devoted to spreading hikikomori culture.

The story follows Tatsuhiro as he attempts to escape the machinations of the NHK and the disease of self-induced isolation while struggling to leave his apartment and find a job. It might be that Tatsuhiro’s unexpected encounter with Misaki Nakahara will result in a complete reversal of fortune, but this encounter will also be the source of his greatest fear — society.

It is a unique, complex, entertaining, slow-paced, and absolutely brilliant story. It is so beautifully written, executed, and structured. Even though the story deals with a serious subject, there are many humorous moments. Through humor, the creators of the anime were able to convert such a serious subject matter into an anime that would not only entertain viewers but also educate them.

This anime’s strongest aspect is its characters. They all have their own purpose. Each character grows, fails, learns, and maximizes their potential as a solid character. There are no weak characters in this anime. It is amazing how well-written, well-developed, and well exposed every character is and how that justifies their existence. Not a single character feels unnecessary or annoying.

    Shirobako

    Shirobako

During their time at Kaminoyama High School, Aoi Miyamori, Ema Yasuhara, Midori Imai, Shizuka Sakaki, and Misa Toudou discovered their mutual love for anime and formed the animation club. Following the presentation of their first amateur anime at the festival, the group vows to pursue careers in the industry, hoping to create their own mainstream show one day.

In two and a half years’ time, Aoi and Ema have both landed jobs at Musashino Animation, a production company in Tokyo. Meanwhile, the others are having difficulty securing work. While Shizuka is feeling the weight of not being recognized as a seasoned voice actor, Misa has a durable but unfulfilling career designing 3D models for a car company, and Midori is a university student aspiring to become a story writer.

With persistence and a hint of eccentric creativity, these girls will learn that the path to success is one with many divergences, but dreams can still be achieved.

Shirobako serves as a love letter to the anime industry. The show does not glorify animators or portray them as super-talented geniuses, and numerous characters in the show admit they don’t even understand why they are in the industry. Although it may not be the most respected form of media, something keeps them passionate about what they do.

Shirobako is also a very well-written and entertaining story in its own right. This is a very informative and interesting look at what goes into creating anime, but it is also much more than that. Moreover, it is courageous for being an original series and for telling a story about adult characters instead of the typical high school fare that anime cannot escape from.

    Dr. Stone

    Dr. Stone

Taiju Ooki, a high school student, is finally ready to confess his love for Yuzuriha Ogawa after harboring unspoken feelings for five years. However, as Taiju begins to confess, a blinding green light strikes the Earth and petrifies all mankind around the globe, turning each individual into stone.

Taiju awakens several millennia later to find the modern world completely nonexistent since nature has flourished in the period when humanity stood still. While he is exploring a stone world of statues, Taiju encounters one other living human: his science-loving friend Senkuu. As Taiju learns, Senkuu has developed a grand plan for reviving civilization with science. Taiju’s brawn and Senkuu’s brains combine to forge a formidable partnership, and they soon uncover a method to revive those petrified.

However, Senkuu’s master plan is threatened when his ideologies are challenged by those who awaken. All the while, the reason for mankind’s petrification remains unknown.

From the very beginning, you’ll be captivated by the show’s fascinating setting. Dr. Stone is an anime that you love even though it is over the top. It is realistic yet unrealistic, funny yet intense.

Because it is set in prehistoric times, it is unique. The humor and science are interwoven in Dr. Stone. As you watch it, you’ll laugh so hard you’ll fall off your couch.

The primary purpose of Dr. Stone’s show is to demonstrate the brilliance of Senkuu and his group of scientists. Each of the characters he befriends has a different goal and personality.

Senkuu’s initial meetings with them are not always on friendly terms, but one of the things that’s interesting about this anime is how the characters work together to form the kingdom of Science, Senkuu’s ultimate goal.

    Great Pretender

    Great Pretender

Makoto “Edamame” Edamura became a pickpocket and scammer after a string of unfortunate events led him to adopt the life of crime. Makoto discovers, after duping an innocent tourist, that he is the one who was tricked, and the police are now searching for him.

As he makes his getaway, he runs into the tourist once more, who turns out to be another con man named Laurent Thierry and follows him to Los Angeles. Makoto challenges his opponent to determine who is the better scammer as part of his attempt to retain his self-proclaimed title of “Japan’s Greatest Swindler.”. Once they have agreed to compete, Laurent drops them off at a large mansion and claims that their target is the biggest mafia boss on the West Coast.

From city to city, Great Pretender follows Makoto along with the scheming Laurent and his flamboyant associates engaged in international high-stakes fraud. Makoto soon realizes that he got more than he bargained for when his self-proclaimed talents are continually challenged.

It is a pretty straightforward story, but it is also incredibly funny. Even though you know how they’ll trick the victims, it doesn’t mean it can’t be well executed and funny in its own right.

In this anime, the characters are solid. There is nothing out-of-character about them. They interact with one another in an entertaining way. In addition to character development, there are insights into each character, too, using flashbacks to show the experiences they have had in their lives.

The storyline flows very well and captures the watcher’s attention. There are also some great references to movies and television shows. There are a lot of great swindlers using various kinds of rigged systems to con their victims, which makes for an entertaining show.

    Nodame Cantabile

    Nodame Cantabile

Shinichi Chiaki, a talented musician, aspires to play among Europe’s elites. He comes from a distinguished family, and as such, he is an infamous perfectionist-not only is he critical of himself, but others as well. Shinichi’s fear of flying is the only thing holding him back from leaving for Europe. Therefore, he’s stuck in Japan.

As a fourth-year student at Japan’s top music university, Shinichi meets Megumi Noda, or Nodame, as she calls herself. By all appearances, she appears to be an unkempt girl with no direction in life. Shinichi is in awe of the kind of music Nodame creates when he hears her play the piano for the first time. Even so, Shinichi is dismayed to discover that Nodame is his neighbor, and worse, she falls head over heels for him.

The story and plot of Nodame Cantabile are quite different from those in most other romantic comedy animes since the action takes place on a college campus rather than a high school, and the characters’ mentality and personalities are quite different as well.

The series progresses, and it becomes apparent that the characters are not children anymore; even if they are still in college, their attitudes about life, the world, and others are very different from those found in the countless high school romantic comedies.

The way the characters are portrayed in this series sets it apart from other romantic comedies. Along with the two leads, there is also considerable character development among the supporting characters as they strive to become better musicians.

Due to its more mature yet whimsical approach to love and life, Nodame Cantabile is a breath of fresh air.

    Gin no Saji

    Gin no Saji

Yuugo Hachiken is hardworking, diligent, and tired of trying to meet expectations that are too high for him. As the new school year begins, he decides to enroll in Ooezo Agricultural High School, a boarding school in the Hokkaido countryside, as an escape from the stress of his parents.

While he is initially convinced that he would do well at this institution, Hachiken is quickly proven wrong by his talented classmates – those who have grown up on farms and possess a wealth of knowledge about food, agriculture, and even livestock physiology! When it comes to harsh agriculture, Hachiken is an amateur, whether it’s waking up at five in the morning to perform strenuous labor or caring for farm animals.

Gin no Saji chronicles the adventures of a student trying to find his place in a completely new environment. He meets many interesting characters. In an effort to appreciate his surroundings, Hachiken hopes to discover his dreams, so he can live a fulfilled life on his own terms.

We all have the ability to set our own paths and believe what we want to believe, as Gin no Saji illustrates.

Hachiken is frequently placed in situations outside his comfort zone in the anime, leading to hilarious outcomes. In addition, there is never too much focus on one side character at a time, as they all develop together through their interactions with Hachiken.

The plot progresses at a steady pace, which allows viewers to get to know the characters but also keeps things interesting by providing a change of scenery every episode or two.

    Tokyo Godfathers

    Tokyo Godfathers

During Christmas Eve, Hana, Gin, and Miyuki are searching for presents under heaps of garbage when they stumble onto an abandoned baby on the cold winter night. Hana is horrified at the sight, and her maternal instincts prompt her to search for the baby’s birth mother and demand an explanation.

The baby is named Kiyoko, meaning pure child, and the search begins with the two clues left alongside her: a key and a note. However, they are caught up in a series of unprecedented events that quickly throw their plans into disarray.

In Tokyo Godfathers, the trio stays together through thick and thin with the hope of bringing Kiyoko to her true home and finding a miracle for Christmas.

Despite the reminders of how hard life can be, the movie is a lot of fun, comedic at times, and pretty feel-good, reflecting the general optimism associated with the winter holidays. It is uplifting, meaningful, and potentially relevant to people from all walks of life.

This anime is definitely highlighted by its characters. The three protagonists are all wonderfully in-depth, but you never get the feeling that their complexity is being flaunted or that they are throwing it in our faces. Hana, Gin, and Mitsuki are introduced as fairly ordinary people, which makes them easy to empathize with and relate to, even for such unconventional characters as Hana.

Each character’s personal issues are presented in gradual fragments, and there is enough ambiguity and deception to keep you wondering. Tokyo Godfathers is a wonderful family film. You can understand the story pretty easily. It is a great addition to a Christmas films collection.

    Yuru Camp△

    Yuru Camp△

While most girls her age would choose a fancy getaway with their loved ones, Rin Shima would prefer to spend her days off camping alone at Mount Fuji’s base. She has always pitched her tent and gathered firewood by herself and does not intend to leave her solitary world.

It turns out that what begins as one of Rin’s usual camping excursions ends up as a surprise get-together for two when Nadeshiko Kagamihara is forced to take refuge at her campsite. While she intended to see Mount Fuji for herself, Nadeshiko’s plans are disrupted when she falls asleep partway to her destination.

She is alone and has no other option than to ask for help from the only other person nearby. Despite their hurried introductions, the two girls enjoy eating ramen and conversing around the campfire while it is chilly outside. The two girls silently contemplate the possibility of another camping trip together even after Nadeshiko’s sister picks her up later that night.

Would you have ever thought a camping series would be fun, refreshing, and so entertaining? No matter how you feel, you will end each episode with a big smile on your face. Yuru Camp isn’t just about cute girls doing cute things. There is a focus on how to be happy under any circumstance and how to enjoy simpler situations.

More importantly, the series irradiates that sensation to all the spectators. They give us a funny and delightful gem that will stay in our memories for a long time to come. Watching it is fun, fresh, and entertaining. The story is clear and straightforward.

    Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou

    Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou

There are three close comrades roaming the halls of Sanada North High School for boys: the eccentric ringleader Hidenori, the passionate Yoshitake, and the rational and prudent Tadakuni. At least in their vivid imaginations, they live a life full of giant robots, true love, and intense drama.

Actually, they are just a trio of ordinary guys passing the time, but who says everyday life can’t be interesting? Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou is full of bizarre yet relatable situations that are anything but mundane, such as an intricate RPG reenactment or a romantic encounter on the riverbank at sunset.

Despite the fact that it is a slice-of-life story, it works amazingly well. As each character endures everyday tasks, the episodes are divided into segments and focus on a variety of characters, each of whom has their own peculiarities.

Most segments are short, which keeps the comedic tone light, random and fast-paced, giving it tremendous enjoyability. Since it is a slice of life, the story isn’t a complex and amazing one, but the setting and the comedy match and work together so well that you don’t care about the simple plot.

In many scenes, the humor is very character-driven, so the characters play a key role in the punchlines. In this series, the main character does not monopolize every scene. In fact, he does not appear in more than two or three episodes. The secondary characters play right into stereotypes, but they add an interesting twist to them.

    Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu

    Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu

A high school freshman, Hirohito Tadano has a clear goal on his first day: avoiding trouble and blending in with the other students. The moment he sits next to Shouko Komi, the school’s madonna, he fails right away. He is now recognized as someone to be eliminated for the chance to sit next to the most beautiful girl in class.

Komi is gorgeous and graceful, with long, dark hair, and enormously popular despite her mysterious identity. Unbeknownst to everyone, she suffers from crippling anxiety and a communication disorder that prevents her from fully socializing with her classmates.

Komi is forced to converse with Tadano through writing on a blackboard as if they were having a one-way conversation when left alone in the classroom. Since Tadano was the first to realize she couldn’t communicate, he also picked up her chalk and began to write. In the end, he discovers Komi’s goal is to make one hundred friends during her high school years. As a result, he offers to lend her a hand, thus becoming her first friend.

A show such as Komi-san takes its time to properly build up the development and progress of characters and the plot for the characters, and the series’ supposed growth. Despite the fact that Komi-san’s premise offers nothing new to the anime franchise, the story and the characters are flawlessly blended into an unforgettable show with endless charm.

Considering how many characters this anime has, the character development is quite impressive. Almost every character is given the screen time and spotlight they deserve. The characters are really relatable too.

    SKET Dance

    SKET Dance

The SKET Brigade is a special club at Kaimei High School dedicated to helping others. The group’s brains are provided by Kazuyoshi “Switch” Usui, a tech-savvy otaku who speaks through speech synthesis software, Hime “Himeko” Onizuka, the hockey stick-wielding girl once known as “Orihime,” provides the brawn. Lastly, their leader is Yuusuke “Bossun” Fujisaki, whose latent ability is activated by his goggles, which allow him to summon the awesome power of extraordinary concentration.

They are, however, known only as a club that handles odd jobs around campus. Their days are usually spent in the clubroom slacking off, but when something has to be done, they do their best to help-often in humorous but unintentional ways. Students crazy enough to ask for assistance from the SKET Brigade can count on them for support, kindness, encouragement, and troubleshooting.

Most of the series’ fun is derived from the interactions between the main cast members themselves or between the main cast and the supporting cast. Supporting characters are hilarious and well made; almost all of them are very weird.

Comedy can be challenging when used with a school setting at the same time as it tends to have a lot of clichéd objects, but this is where SKET Dance truly shines. Even though SKET Dance is mostly comical most of the time, it also achieves what it is actually about, helping others in need.

Each and every episode, no matter what their request may be, our SKET Club manages to start off on a positive note by completing the given task and ending the episode correctly.

    Horimiya

    Horimiya

Kyouko Hori and Izumi Miyamura being friends would seem to be the furthest thing from anyone’s mind. Hori combines both beauty and brains, while Miyamura appears meek and distant. But a fateful meeting between them reveals both of their hidden selves.

Hori is popular at school, but she does not have time to socialize with her friends since she is always busy with housework. On the other hand, Miyamura lives in the shadow of his classmates, his body covered in tattoos and piercings, which make him seem like a gentle delinquent.

They become friends quickly and often spend time together in Hori’s home despite their opposite personalities. When they emerge from their shells, they reveal to each other a side of themselves that has been hidden from the outside world.

The story begins with a misjudgment that leads to a wonderful friendship. The characters are interesting, and their interactions within the show are top-notch.

Despite her sweet and kind nature, Hori can sometimes be a bit hot-tempered, but this is more related to surprise or ill-preparedness. As a guy who keeps to himself and has real feelings when dealing with all these new friendships, Izumi is very relatable. They also have very supportive friends.

The first episode’s art, characters, song, etc., will hook you. You won’t dislike a single character! Horimiya is a standout in this genre. This anime is where you can put your feet up with a cup of tea and relax and enjoy some top-quality entertainment.

    Ballroom e Youkoso

    Ballroom e Youkoso

A shy middle school student, Tatara Fujita has no clear plans for the future. It has been his lifelong goal to avoid confrontation and blend in with the crowd. Blending in isn’t enough to avoid trouble, as some bullies harass him for money. Fortunately, a man named Kaname Sengoku saves him.

Tatara is invited to Kaname’s dance studio. Tatara, who normally would not step foot in such a place, is captivated by Sengoku’s commanding presence. When Tatara gets a chance to dance with Shizuku Hanaoka-who often practices at the studio-he begins to realize there’s something about being put in the spotlight and dancing where people can see him that keeps him coming back.

Tatara enters the world of competitive dance with an earnest desire to improve.

Watching Ballroom e Youkoso feels like taking a journey down memory lane. The kind of memory lane where you were once a kid and wanted to prove to everyone you were talented in something.

There is a central theme of ballroom dancing in this anime. Anime about championships or tournaments might also be like sports anime, but you would be mistaken. Ballroom e Youkoso combines amazing storytelling with stunning art design to captivate viewers.

Tatara’s journey is the focus of most of the storytelling, although it takes many forms. He deals with personal issues social problems and also establishes rivalries with certain characters he meets. In addition, an important part of this show involves him building important relationships with others.

The adaptation has many characters. Among the most interesting are the competing couples. The anime Ballroom e Youkoso focuses on what it intends without betraying expectations.

    Asobi Asobase

    Asobi Asobase

At recess, Olivia, a foreign transfer student without English skills, plays a game of “look-the-other-way” with Hanako Honda, a loudmouthed airhead. As a result of their rowdy behavior, Kasumi Nomura, a deadpan loner constantly teased by her older sister for losing games, takes offense.

Kasumi declines Olivia’s invitation to join the fun but eventually participates anyway and dispenses her own brand of mischief. In time, a strange friendship develops between the odd trio, and they decide to form the “Pastime Club,” where they can continue their daily mischief.

Whenever the girls of Asobi Asobase are up to their hilarious antics, school life will never be boring, regardless of whether they fail to learn English or try desperately to become popular.

Asobi Asobase is not a story in itself but rather the characters themselves, which make up the core of the series.

An anime’s characters will always contribute to either making us laugh, thrill, or be scared. With a wide range of well-done characters, Asobi Asobase’s aim is to be comedic. Although the main cast carries most of the show, some of the supporting cast also get their chance to shine.

There are so many varying types of jokes in this show that you may think it’s all parodies. When you watch Asobi Asobase, you will literally laugh at how characters react. Asobi Asobase takes a risk by bringing comedy to a level that is almost incomprehensible.

Asobi Asobase is a wholesome experience not to be missed; its God-tier levels of trickery will mock you hard and bad if you’re not prepared for what lies ahead.

    Non Non Biyori

    Non Non Biyori

For most people, Asahigaoka might seem like monotonous, boring countryside; however, no day in this village can ever be considered dull due to the five students of varying ages who occupy the only class at the only school in town. Students’ youngest member is Renge Miyauchi, a first-grader who brings an unadulterated wit, curiosity, and her characteristic catchphrase, “Nyanpasu!”

Also present are the Koshigaya siblings, which include the quiet ninth grader and older brother Suguru, the diminutive eighth grader Komari, and the mischievous seventh grader Natsumi. Tokyo-raised fifth grader Hotaru Ichijou, who holds an air of maturity and appears overdeveloped for her age, completed this lively and vibrant group of five classmates.

Through Non-Non Biyori, a group of friends chronicles their not-so-normal lives as they indulge in their own kind of fun and frolic and deal with the realities of living in a rural area.

Spend some time watching this anime, and all your worries will disappear – probably within seconds. Everything is designed with that goal in mind. And what an effect it is.

This is a simple story. We learn about the lives of four girls of various ages who live in the same rural village and attend the same school every day. Every event is based on their everyday lives, with both realistic and believable events.

The series is episodic in nature, but characters and settings are gradually built over time so that there is no lack of progress. Every episode contains at least one story that is a joy to watch and will melt your heart. While the humor is lighthearted in tone, it is intended to add to this heart-melting effect rather than make you laugh out loud.

    Hinamatsuri

    Hinamatsuri

Yoshifumi Nitta, a member of the yakuza, is rudely interrupted while reveling in winning a prized vase for his collection when a large, peculiar capsule appears and falls on his head. Upon opening the capsule, he finds a young, blue-haired girl who reveals nothing about herself except her name, Hina, and that she has incredible powers.

Even worse, if she leaves her powers unused, she loses control, causing an explosion. When Nitta has no other option, he becomes her caregiver.

Nitta asks Hina to assist with a construction deal so that she can use her power freely. During this time, a rival yakuza group attacks his boss in secret. It is Nitta who is later blamed by his colleagues! Nitta, tasked with attacking the rival group in retaliation, steels himself and travels to their hideout. As Hina unexpectedly steps in, he is able to wipe out the entire group.

Hina is turning out to be a valuable asset for Nitta and his yakuza empire, as long as she doesn’t use her powers against him first! Thus begins the strange story of this unusual pair.

In Hinamatsuri, the comedy is brilliant to the core. The comedy and jokes are really funny because they are all timed and, more importantly, they are not repetitive.

The comedy in this series is brilliant because of how the characters react to comedic situations. It’s a slice of life/comedy anime with great character development. From character chemistry to peculiar storytelling, every episode leaves you with something to talk about.

    Ouran Koukou Host Club

    Ouran Koukou Host Club

In Ouran Academy, an elite school for students of high pedigree, Haruhi Fujioka is a bright scholarship candidate without rank or title to speak of. When Haruhi opens the door to Music Room #3, she expects to find a quiet place to study but instead finds the Host Club.

Under the leadership of Tamaki Suou, it is the place where handsome boys with too much free time entertain young girls in the academy. The club’s other members are the “Shadow King,” Kyouya Ootori; the mischievous Hitachiin twins, Kaoru and Hikaru; the childlike Mitsukuni Haninozuka, or “Honey,” as well as his protector, Takashi “Mori” Morinozuka.

Attempting to escape the hosts, Haruhi breaks a vase worth eight million yen and becomes the eccentric group’s errand boy in an effort to repay her enormous debt.

She eventually becomes a full-time male host thanks to her convincingly masculine appearance, her naturally friendly disposition toward girls, and her commoner status. Haruhi soon finds herself swept up into a glitzy whirlwind of elaborate cosplays, high-class food, and exciting shenanigans exclusive to the Host Club.

There is rarely a standing fourth wall in the show. The show sometimes tries to tug at your heartstrings, and it almost always succeeds. It’s a little corny, but the cast is likable and makes the anime extremely heartwarming. One can easily develop a favorite host, but there isn’t a single member of the cast who is unentertaining or who overstays their welcome.

Regardless of your gender, you’ll find it funny, and it can range from smart to stupid at the same time. There is enough wackiness to make you laugh out loud, but there is also sufficient character development to keep you interested in what is happening.

    Toradora!

    Toradora!

Ryuuji Takasu is a kind and gentle high school student who enjoys housework, but despite his kind nature, he has an intimidating stare that often gets him labeled as a delinquent. As opposed to Taiga Aisaka, a small, doll-like student who is anything but fragile. Taiga is known as the “Palmtop Tiger” in the school because of her wooden katana and fiery personality.

They cross paths after making an embarrassing mistake one day. Ryuuji discovers that Taiga has a sweet side: she has a crush on his best friend, Yuusaku Kitamura, the popular vice president. The situation gets even crazier when Ryuuji reveals a crush on Taiga’s best friend, Minori Kushieda!

This romantic comedy follows an odd couple on a quest to help each other with their crushes, resulting in an unlikely alliance.

The story stays away from cliches and is relatively unpredictable for a love story. What makes this anime so great are the characters. Each character has a distinct personality and is rather realistic and believable. There are no “super” characters who act too good or too cool for school. There is no “that annoying” character that acts too snobbish or stuck up, which can sometimes be a problem with tsundere characters.

All of this is because every character shows a vulnerable side or a moment of insecurity, making them more relatable. This allows for both comedic and emotional moments. The show’s greatest strength is the chemistry and interactions between each character, as well as how they change as their relationship develops.

    Detroit Metal City

    Detroit Metal City

The popular death metal band Detroit Metal City (DMC) dominates the world of indie music with its dark and crude style. Their extravagant lead singer, Johannes Krauser II, is especially infamous as a demonic being who has risen from hell itself in order to bring the world to its knees and rule over all mortals, or at least that’s what the media has claimed.

Unbeknownst to his many fans, Krauser II is simply the alter ego of an average college graduate named Souichi Negishi. Although he is soft-spoken, peace-loving, and would rather listen to Swedish pop all day, he must participate in DMC’s garish concerts in order to make ends meet.

Detroit Metal City chronicles Negishi’s hilarious misadventures as he attempts to juggle his hectic band life, a seemingly budding romance, and dealing with his incredibly obsessive and dedicated fans.

The rabid fans of DMC are the funniest part of the series. Negishi’s Krauser persona is viewed by them as a godlike act. In spite of his best efforts to win over the girl of his dreams, being in the most offensive band keeps him from succeeding.

Negishi’s desperate attempts to hide his true identity can only make us laugh and feel sorry for him a little bit. DMC’s cast of deranged characters livens up every scene they’re in, thanks to each episode’s short length. Detroit Metal City’s secret weapon is the maniacal fans mentioned earlier. Their commentary on the main band’s hijinks is comedy gold; their crazy antics, all in the name of their beloved musical heroes, create most of the show’s best scenes.

The short series Detroit Metal City packs in as much hilarity as possible. His life spirals out of control from the moment he boards the train to Tokyo and waves goodbye to his mother.

    No Game No Life

    No Game No Life

A surreal comedy, No Game No Life follows Sora and Shiro, two shut-in NEET siblings and the gamer pair behind the mysterious username “Blank.” They view the real world as nothing more than a useless game, but when they receive an e-mail inviting them to a chess match, everything changes: the siblings are thrown into an otherworldly realm by Tet, the God of Games.

The mysterious god welcomes Sora and Shiro to Disboard, a world where all conflicts-from petty disputes to the fate of nations-are settled by high-stakes games rather than through war.

Each party must wager something they consider to be of equal value to the other party’s wager in order for the system to work. As Sora and Shiro navigate this strange new world where the very idea of humanity is reduced to child’s play, they find a real reason to keep playing games: to unite all sixteen races of Disboard, defeat Tet, and eventually become the gods of everything in this world of gaming.

The show pokes fun at itself often through its characters, concepts, and gags to provide entertainment despite the seriousness of the siblings’ quest. It’s rarely more fun to watch someone else play a game than to play one yourself. In any case, the show makes you feel like you’re part of the overall quest to conquer the world.

By deconstructing game tropes, this anime offers a fantasy adventure in an experimental medium. The show frequently mocks itself through cultures, rules, and just about anything else it can get its hands on. Even though the show doesn’t evade its clichés, it finds a way to parody them through clever comedic execution.

Sora and Shiro are undoubtedly the focus of the character department since they are the series’ protagonists, and they do not disappoint.

    Sakura-sou no Pet na Kanojo

    Sakura-sou no Pet na Kanojo

Sorata Kanda, a second-year student at Suimei High School, moves into Sakura Hall when abandoned kittens and his good conscience push him to move in, but the satellite dorm and its eccentric, misfit residents quickly turn his life upside down. He finds it difficult to integrate with the bizarre collection of dorm residents, including Misaki, an animator; Jin, a playwright playboy; Ryuunosuke, a reserved programmer; and Chihiro, the dorm manager, art teacher, and party girl.

Nanami, a second-year student and aspiring voice actress urges Sorata to find new owners for the many cats so that he can quickly return to the regular dormitories. His desire to escape Sakura Hall, however, dwindles when second-year Mashiro Shiina, a world-class artist seeking to become a mangaka, appears in the spring trimester and quickly becomes an obsession.

The quirks of each other allow Sorata and Mashiro to break out of their shells and trigger change in those around them. With its ensemble cast, Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo explores the fine threads that connect talent, hard work, romance, and friendship.

The story of an anime is one of its most important aspects, which Sakurasou has in abundance. A lot of depth is added to the story by Sakurasou’s characters. As well as the trials they face, the misfits have many small adventures and antics during their stay at Sakurasou. Over time, Sakurasou’s six friends’ friendships grow, bonds are strengthened, and they experience fights, love, and tears.

Throughout the story, we learn about all of their backgrounds. Even though the residents of Sakurasou come from vastly different backgrounds, they all accept one another. They are all true friends, and they have never harbored animosity or resentment for each other. They are so fascinating to watch because of their chemistry.

    Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!

    Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!

Everyone has experienced moments when they felt special, different from the masses of ordinary humans. They may take it so far as believing they possess mystical powers, or perhaps even believe they are descendants of mythical creatures. Chuunibyou is the name given to this “disease” and is often the cause of embarrassing moments in life.

The wounds that his chuunibyou have left behind are still fresh in Yuuta Togashi’s mind. He looks back with extreme embarrassment at the times when he was the “Dark Flame Master,” to the point where he decides to attend a high school far away from where no one will recognize him. His goal is to put his past behind him and live a normal high school life.

Unfortunately, Yuuta is still haunted by his past: enter Rikka Takanashi, Yuuta’s new classmate and self-proclaimed vessel of the “Wicked Eye.” As this eccentric youngster crashes into Yuuta’s life, his dream of an ordinary, chuunibyou-free life quickly crumbles. In this funny and heartwarming story about a boy who just wants to leave his embarrassing memories behind, the delusions of the past are far from gone.

Throughout the series, the main characters are surrounded by events and comedy. Regardless of the fact that most of them are anything but normal teens, they still live their high school days like any other teenager.

In the end, Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! has great entertainment value. In the story, a kid who tried to escape his past ends up living it with his new friends at high school. These days it’s not so easy to create entertainment, especially with so many already used ideas, but this one here is done really well.

    Lovely★Complex

    Lovely★Complex

Risa Koizumi and Atsushi Ootani, both high school students, are searching for their ideal partners. Koizumi, who is 172 cm tall, is much taller than the average girl, while Ootani, at 156cm, is much shorter than the average boy. Additionally, their crushes fall in love with each other, leaving Koizumi and Ootani comically flustered and heartbroken.

To make matters worse, their homeroom teacher has even labeled them a comedy duo due to their personalities and height differences, and their classmates think of their arguments as sketches.

In Lovely Complex, Koizumi and Ootani encourage each other to find love and become close friends. In addition to their ridiculous antics, they soon discover an unexpected similarity in their taste in music and fashion. Perhaps the two possess chemistry yet to be discovered, but could love bloom between the mismatched pair?

By the end, you’ll be head over heels for them because the writers did such a great job laying down the foundation and actually showing you how their feelings grow over time. It’s not like many shows where all of a sudden, in a haze of fuzzy lighting and rose petals, love appears out of nowhere.

The characters are so ridiculous and out of control that it’s hard not to laugh. Exaggeration, ridiculous faces, and overreacting are their trademarks. It’s a little hammy, but that’s part of the fun. In addition, it’s refreshing to see a female lead who isn’t a stereotypical dominatrix or a weak, helpless nitwit. She seems like a normal person with strengths and weaknesses.

    SK∞

    SK∞

A high school student named Reki Kyan is passionate about skateboarding. As the night falls, he heads to “S,” an underground race where skaters compete in highly dangerous conditions. Due to a loss in which his skateboard was destroyed, and his arm was broken, Reki is no longer able to practice.

As Reki is working, he meets his new classmate, Langa Hasegawa, a half-Canadian, the half-Japanese boy with no skateboarding experience. Langa is in dire need of money. They both visit “S” when asked by Reki’s boss, but they get into trouble and are forced to participate in a bet that requires Langa to skate.

Reki is unaware, however, that the mysterious transfer student holds a trump card that might help him win the race at the last minute.

In addition to the casual tone of SK∞, the script includes comedy overtones without being recursive, which is effective. Without a doubt, it is not grounded in reality. Skateboarding moves performed by the characters often violate the laws of physics.

The show nails its character relationships, despite its over-the-top approach to skateboarding. The main cast has believable chemistry together. The group feels like a real group of friends, complete with their own habits and inside jokes.

These are the episodes in which the gang just hangs out and has fun together. There is an authentic feel to them. In addition, there is excellent character development for not only the two main leads but for most of the cast. Character development is excellent, not only for the two main leads but also for most of the cast. This is a show that’s fun to watch, and one thing that’s for sure is that you’ll have fun the entire time you’re watching this show.

    Hachimitsu to Clover

    Hachimitsu to Clover

At an arts college, Yuuta Takemoto lives in a cheap apartment with two seniors: the eccentric Shinobu Morita, who keeps failing to graduate through his absenteeism, and the sensible Takumi Mayama, who acts as a proper senior to Takemoto, looking out for him when necessary.

On a fine spring day, Takemoto met Hagumi Hanamoto and fell in love at first sight. He hadn’t thought much about the future until then. Hagumi is gifted in the arts and enrolls at Takemoto’s university, where she befriends the popular pottery student Ayumi Yamada. Ayumi is well acquainted with the three flatmates and harbors deep feelings for one of them.

In the heartwarming story, Hachimitsu to Clover, young love, soul-searching, and self-discovery are intricately woven through the relationships between five friends.

Anime can be more than just animated entertainment to those of us who watch it. Sometimes, we will feel a deep connection to a character or characters in a show.

Occasionally, a story will seem less like a fantasy and more like a reflection on society or our own lives. Such shows are memorable. We laugh, we cry, and sometimes we learn something new about ourselves because of them. This is one of those types of anime.

Shows are definitely made by their characters. Hachimitsu to Clover, like many other similar series, falls back on the characters to help carry the series, and all five of the main characters do so phenomenally. Throughout the series, the perspective changes so that we see, hear, think, and occasionally feel what any given character is going through at that time.

    Kaichou wa Maid-sama!

    Kaichou wa Maid-sama!

It’s not easy being the first female president of the student council, especially when your institution just changed from an all-boys school to a co-ed one. Misaki Ayuzawa, nicknamed “Demon President” by the boys for her strict disciplinary style, does not hesitate to use the Aikido techniques she has mastered to strike judgment on the hordes of misbehaving boys at Seika High School and defend the girls.

Although Ayuzawa is the perfect student, she hides an embarrassing secret-she works part-time as a maid at a maid café so that her struggling family can pay their bills. Her fellow students did not know she worked as a maid, and her perfect image as an outstanding student was maintained until one day, Takumi Usui, the most popular boy in school, walked into the maid café.

The student council president’s secret could either ruin her reputation, or he could use it as an opportunity to get closer to her.

This isn’t your typical romance anime, and that’s exactly why you’ll love it. There is nothing complex about the storyline in Kaichou, but every element of it will make you fall helplessly in love with it. The story is filled with so many elements that create a bittersweet mood that’s hard to escape.

You’ll find Usui rather comical, reserved, but also just out there. Misaki is the perfect match for him. The attributes of Misaki are rather aggressive at first, but over time she shows more kindness. She is a typical tsundere, yet she is slightly cute.

Overall, this anime is really enjoyable. Whether it be comedy or romance, this anime will catch your attention.

    Himouto! Umaru-chan

    Himouto! Umaru-chan

Usually, there is more to people than meets the eye, as we see here with Umaru Doma, the perfect high school girl-until she gets home! It’s time for the real fun to begin after she walks through the front door. She converts from a refined, overachieving student into a lazy, junk food-eating otaku when she dons her hamster hoodie, leaving all the housework to her older brother, Taihei.

Umaru is always having fun, whether she’s hanging out with her friends Nana Ebina and Kirie Motoba or competing with her self-professed “rival” Sylphinford Tachibana!

The story focuses on Umaru and Taihei, as they deal with each other’s daily challenges by caring for each other and putting up with each other. It also explores the relationships between siblings and friends that cannot be broken.

The two sides of Umaru’s lifestyle reveal more about her. In that way, the show can make us feel attached to the characters. The relationship between Umaru and her brother can also be quite entertaining. Her brother is an average guy with an average job and an average salary. This is the typical brother and sister relationship that everyone with siblings can relate to.

In general, the series makes fun of otaku culture with enough jokes that it looks like satire. There is also enough time to give the other characters their due. Aside from that, the audience will often be curious to see what Umaru does next based on her daily adventures. It’s more than just a show about a brother and a sister when it stars a peculiar girl with two faces.

    Lucky☆Star

    Lucky☆Star

In Lucky Star, four cute high school girls live their daily lives: Konata Izumi, a lazy otaku; Tsukasa and Kagami Hiiragi, the twins; and Miyuki Takara, the smart and well-mannered girl.

As they attend school and beyond, they form an eccentric and lively friendship, making humorous observations about the world around them. Be it Japanese tradition, the intricacies of otaku culture, academics, or the correct way of preparing and eating various foods—no subject is safe from their musings.

Lucky Star is one of those very rare comedy anime series. With many pop culture references and a comedic twist on everyday occurrences, it is one of the most enjoyable comedies. Rather than being your typical slice-of-life high school comedy anime, this show is structured in a western-style comedy, a sitcom to be exact.

It doesn’t have a direct storyline like most anime; instead, it focuses more on everyday observations and J-pop culture. Comedy in this show covers so many angles and hits so many things perfectly you can’t help but love it.

The characters are perhaps the strongest aspect of the show. The cast of Lucky Star is great. The variety it has and the way they fit so well together really bring out the show. Whether you come to like this show or not, there will be at least one character that you can’t help but like.

Overall, this is a very enjoyable show. If you enjoy the kind of humor the show presents, this will quickly become one of your favorite shows.

    Kakushigoto

    Kakushigoto

Kakushi Gotou is a manga artist whose works are sometimes viewed as inappropriate. As a result of this raunchiness, he vowed not to reveal his profession to his daughter Hime when she was born, fearing it would disillusion her.

The paranoia-induced belief leads Kakushi into chaotic situations. In spite of being a single father, he works extremely hard and even resorts to extreme measures to protect his secret, such as guise as a salaryman every day or conducting emergency drills in case Hime somehow manages to find him.

In Kakushigoto, a father and daughter share a peaceful existence as the father attempts to preserve the status quo. It is true that time will reveal all secrets. In time, Hime must learn the truth behind the things she took for granted as she grew up.

All the silly yet somewhat effective attempts he’s made to hide his secrets are the highlights of the show. He’s somewhat like an overly-cautious dad for a change, doing his best to raise his oblivious and cute daughter.

This segment will keep you anticipating the next episode for more answers to the questions posed after every episode.

Her father and co-workers are wild and energetic. Hime is not only an angel; she is sweet, smart, and beautiful.

All in all, Kakushigoto is a show that, other than the main focus of the gripping family saga, is filled with sweetness and is a nice change of comedy to add to the slice-of-life genre. A heartwarming yet sad masterpiece of a show not to be missed.

    xxxHOLiC

    xxxHOLiC

Kimihiro Watanuki is able to see spirits and other supernatural creatures, which he finds quite bothersome. Inexplicably, he is compelled to enter a strange house one day while plagued by spirits on the way home.

He encounters Yuuko, a mysterious woman who promises to rid him of his ability to see and attract the troublesome creatures, but not without a price. She demands that he work at her “store” that grants wishes to people, and thus begins Watanuki’s adventures through weird and wonderful events.

Although xxxHOLiC lacks a sense of plot direction, it makes the most of its pacing to display its brand of strange charm, unsettling atmosphere, and surprising insights. The episodic pacing in this show incorporates elements of supernatural, horror, suspense, comedy, and romance along the way.

xxxHOLiC has characters similar to those in a fairy tale. They have very different personalities and portray each of their roles to the best of their abilities. Watanuki is the relentlessly whiny and hardworking nice guy we all know and love.

xxxHOLiC shows us how little we understand life, society, and ourselves. Learning, growing, and transforming into something better requires exploring the world beyond our comfort zones. Our experiences with people with various problems help us understand there is no good or evil. How inherently selfish and fickle we are. How strange it is to be human.

The story of Watanuki, a high school boy, blessed and cursed with the blood that attracts spirits, is a wondrous, uncanny, frisky, and sentimental ride through life. It deserves praise, not for overwhelming the viewer with something revolutionary, but for telling a story that says something about ourselves.

    School Rumble

    School Rumble

Everything changes with the words “I love you”-such is the bittersweet nature of high school romance. Tenma Tsukamoto, a second-year student, is trying to confess her feelings to her crush. Kenji Harima, a notorious delinquent, is in a similar position as he is unable to adequately convey his love to his beloved.

The two will find that high school romance is no walk in the park due to school, friends, rivalries, and hobbies, especially as misunderstandings further complicate their situation.

Tenma and Kenji are both trying to win the hearts of those they desire in the romantic comedy School Rumble.

Any time you feel the story is going to take a serious turn, it swings back to its comedic nature in a flash.

This series is probably best known for its characters. Although there are only three or four major characters in the show, it often focuses on some of the background characters and lets the viewers learn more about them through some interesting side stories. A wide variety of entertaining characters will make you literally laugh out loud. Each has its own personality and is entertaining.

Both the story itself and the way it’s developed are very good. You are looking for a show where you can just relax and enjoy watching; this is your type of humor. It gets funnier as the story progresses!

    Working!!

    Working!!

As a result of his love of small, cute things, Souta Takanashi cannot refuse the invitation of Popura Taneshima to work for Wagnaria, a family restaurant in Hokkaido. Takanashi delights in pampering Popura, which only heightens her self-consciousness over how young she appears.

After he meets his colleagues, he also quickly realizes he has to stay on his toes, which includes the katana-wielding floor chief, the intimidating head chef Jun Satou, the well-informed and cruel sous chef Hiroomi Souma, Kyouko Shirafuji, the lazy manager, and the frightened waitress Mahiru Inami, plagued by a painful fear of men.

A cast of eccentrics, Working!! is an entertaining workplace comedy that follows Takanashi and his colleagues at Wagnaria, where their quirky personalities mix to create nonstop antics, shenanigans, and hilarity.

There isn’t much of a story here. The series continues as Takanashi starts working in a family restaurant with a bunch of weird and unique co-workers. However, even without a real story, Working!! makes up for it easily with its characters. The characters are really well done, they achieve what this anime is meant to do, and that is to make us laugh.

For most slice-of-life animes, good and memorable characters are usually required to make the show interesting and overall a good show in general. And Working!! certainly has that. These characters’ interactions are very prominent in the series, and they make it what it is. It’s not a complicated show, and it’s not too simple either.

    Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii

    Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii

As Narumi Momose slept through four of her alarms, she found herself running late on her first day of work. In her rush to catch her train, she swears to herself that no one can discover her dark secret: she’s an otaku and a fujoshi.

However, her plans go awry when she runs into Hirotaka Nifuji, an old friend from middle school. Though she tries to keep her secret by inviting him out for drinks after work, her cover is blown when he casually asks if she will be attending the Summer Comiket. She is lucky that the only witnesses are otakus as well, Hanako Koyanagi and Tarou Kabakura.

Later that night, they go out for drinks so that they can catch up after all these years apart. As Narumi complains about her previous boyfriend breaking up with her because he refused to date a fujoshi, Hirotaka suggests she try dating a fellow otaku, specifically himself.

In return, he promises to always be by her side, help her get rare Monster Hunter drops, and support her. Blown away by his proposal, Narumi immediately agrees. Thus, the two otakus begin dating, and their adorably awkward romance begins.

The goofy storytelling style and colorful cast of characters create a very playful atmosphere. Even though the show is set in an office environment, it’s hard to ignore the chemistry between the main characters. This show has only a few characters, which is one of the primary reasons for its appeal. Giving every character a chance to shine, it avoids leaving anyone behind.

    Space☆Dandy

    Space☆Dandy

Despite its strangeness and mystery, the universe is full of even stranger and more mysterious aliens. Dandy’s job is to find unclassified aliens and register them for rewards. Even though it sounds simple enough, odd things always seem to happen along the way, like random encounters with zombies, mystical ramen chefs, and adorable orphans. Alien hunting may not be easy, but it is never boring.

In collaboration with his sidekicks, the adorable robot vacuum QT and the cat-like alien Meow, and his slightly-used ship, the Aloha Oe, Dandy explores the galaxy in search of new species. There are no two journeys, or universes, alike, as he usually discovers adventure, danger, and romance along the way. This is Space☆Dandy, baby!

Being a very experimental anime, each episode is unique and quirky, but each and every one of them has a common factor – they are amazing fun. The main point of Space Dandy is a comedy, and it’s handled exceptionally well throughout the series. The jokes here are unique, and the delivery is often excellent.

Simply put, the characters are outstanding. Dandy might at first seem annoying with all of his boob jokes, but even with his over-the-top, contagious stupidity and antics, he will undoubtedly win you over throughout the series.

In addition, the series develops sufficiently despite being episodic, and it weaves the backstories of its characters very well into the episodes. Overall, Space Dandy is hilarious, amazing, and overall a great pleasure to watch. If you’re bored and need a comedy anime that will leave you in tears from all the laughing, this is the anime you should go for.

It captures the experience of living in a small, close-knit community. It is a town where people of all walks of life live together in simple yet heartwarming ways.

The most admirable feature of anime is the warm atmosphere it creates. As if nothing bad could ever happen in this town. The anime is definitely escapist – but in a unique way. Tamako Market is a world where you want to escape and live because it’s so innocent and simple. We’d all be happier if the world was just a little more like Tamako Market. That’s the appeal of these shows.

    K-On!

    K-On!

One of the things to look forward to in a new high school year is joining a club. Yui Hirasawa is uncertain which club to join, so she stumbles upon and applies to the Light Music Club, which she misunderstands to be about playing simple instruments such as castanets. She offers apologies for not being able to play an instrument and quits.

Due to a lack of members, the Light Music Club is facing dissolution. In order to convince Yui to join, the club members offer anything, from food to slacking off during club time. In spite of their efforts, Yui insists on leaving due to her lack of musical experience. They play a piece for Yui as a last resort, which sparks her fiery passion and convinces her to join the club.

After that, it’s just a matter of fiddling with bits and pieces of practice. The Light Music Club members are looking forward to an exciting time together!

Each episode begins with a character introduction, and they entertain you with nothing but their own personalities and imaginations. In contrast to a villain who pulls all the strings, each character drives the story forward in their own way.

There are many occasions in which each member of the main cast demonstrates their unique personality traits. Everyone has their own struggles and joys. When they are together, they fit well together, and their interactions are very entertaining. To put it simply, the characters are extremely polished, consistent, and enjoyable to watch and listen to.

It’s a fun anime that will make you laugh at the characters’ interactions and jokes with music and behavior. When combined with a great soundtrack and very good animation, we have a fun anime to watch.

However, fate can be a fickle mistress. One snowy evening, Nasa sees a peerless beauty across the street on his way home. Nasa is bewitched and attempts to approach her, only to be blindsided by an approaching truck.

Due to the girl’s quick action, his life is spared. In an effort to make this chance meeting last, he forces his crippled body to follow her and ask her out. The girl is surprised by his foolhardiness and pure resolve and agrees to his confession on one condition: he must marry her first!

Tonikaku Kawaii is a relatively lighthearted show filled with comedy and entertainment. The author wants us to enjoy a light rom-com without too many tear-jerking moments. Indeed, this anime adaptation remains lighthearted and focuses on entertainment rather than complex storytelling. The anime sets a high standard for what a romantic comedy should be with its 12 episodes.

It’s almost like a dream fantasy for Nasa to be able to find such a perfect girl as Tsukasa. Fate tied the knots together for these two characters, and by no doubt, they retain a faithful relationship. Every day is a challenge, and every episode follows the steps of this married couple. It’s a small dose of wholesomeness and happiness. We’re mostly hoping to see more cute moments between them and see how they slowly but surely get to know each other better.

    Yuri!!! on Ice

    Yuri!!! on Ice

Amidst the pain of his devastating loss at the Grand Prix Finale, Japan’s once most promising figure skater Yuuri Katsuki returns to his family home to reconsider his choices. A 23-year-old Yuuri’s window for success in skating is closing rapidly, and his love of pork cutlets and tendency to gain weight does not help either.

Suddenly, Yuuri finds himself in the spotlight after a video goes viral of a routine he performed that was executed by five-time world champion Victor Nikiforov. In fact, Victor himself showed up at Yuuri’s house and offers to be his mentor. Yuuri, as one of his biggest fans, eagerly accepts, starting his return to the world stage. However, Yuri Plisetsky, a rising star from Russia, is relentlessly determined to defeat Yuuri and win back Victor’s tutelage.

There is a competitive sports atmosphere in the show, but every so often, the audience will notice character relationships. At times, they can be fierce. At the show’s core are Yuri and Victor.

The way it takes advantage of the competition, characters, visual dynamics, themes, and directing is worth every second. The pacing is also quite good since it doesn’t waste too much time getting to the point. The comedy is straightforward as well, and although it can be a bit awkward at times, it still delivers with the character’s chemistry and reactions of the characters. Retrospectively, it’s a show that is here to entertain.

As well as having their own unique style, each skater also shows their personality with their performances. Aside from the strong production quality, the show also has a great set and character designs. There is something exceptionally phenomenal about ice skating and the relationship between the characters in this anime.

    Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu

    Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu

Kyon, a typical high school student, has long abandoned his belief in the supernatural. Upon meeting Haruhi Suzumiya, he discovers that she has an interest in a number of supernatural phenomena, including aliens, time travelers, and espers. Haruhi complains about the lack of clubs at her school, and Kyon inspires her to start her own. The SOS Brigade, a club dedicated to all things supernatural, is created as a result.

To Kyon’s dismay, the silent bookworm, Yuki Nagato, the shy and timid Mikuru Asahina, as well as the perpetually smiling Itsuki Koizumi are recruited as members. This story traces the crazy adventures that these four endure under their whimsical leader, Haruhi.

Suzumiya brings new light and brilliance to something we didn’t know could exist. It brings pure genius comedy and an excellent array of characters to keep you hooked.

This show is probably best known for the very unique cast of characters. It is really very rare to be able to like all the characters. Each one of the main characters is so likable it’s hard to pick a favorite, and even minor supporting characters are alive with hilarious personalities – many supporting characters could probably star in their own series. Each character appeals to you in its own way. But the biggest factor is the subtle change and growth of the characters.

This is a show that you’ll have to watch over and over in the wrong and right order to fully enjoy it. There’s plenty of comedy to enjoy; nevertheless, there are also some spectacular action sequences.

    Seitokai Yakuindomo

    Seitokai Yakuindomo

The student council president Shino Amakusa calls Takatoshi Tsuda out for his untidy uniform on his first day at the formerly all-girls Ousai Private Academy. For delaying Takatoshi for his first class, Shino apologizes to him and announces that the group needs a male perspective to accommodate the arrival of boys at the school. She then offers him the position of vice president of the student council.

Takatoshi finds himself in the student council even though he has yet to even step foot in the school building.

Takatoshi soon discovers that the other student council members are more than a little strange: President Shino, who appears serious but is actually a huge pervert fascinated by erotica and constantly making lewd jokes; Aria Shichijou, the secretary, who appears like a typical sheltered rich girl but is just as risque as the president; and Suzu Hagimura, the treasurer, who, though she may seem normal, has a body like an elementary school student and is very self-conscious of it.

As this colorful cast surrounds the new vice president, he must now deal with nonstop sexual humor and insanity.

The characters in Seitokai Yakuindomo aren’t particularly unique. Each character possesses some of the usual generic characteristics common to anime. However, the characters are well suited to their roles, which contributes to the humor.

At the end of each episode, you may not walk away amazed, but you will walk away with a few good laughs.

    Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san

When you have a friend who knows you inside out, it’s a good feeling, but in Nishikata’s case, the opposite is true.

Takagi taunts Nishikata daily, and she uses her extensive knowledge of his behavior to predict how he will respond to her teasing. This makes it nearly impossible for Nishikata to ever recover from her teasing. However, Nishikata vows one day to give Takagi a taste of her own medicine by making her blush in embarrassment from his teasing.

On an individual level, Takagi has a cute face and a clever mind. Even though she isn’t a prodigy, she often thinks outside the box to outsmart Nishikata. She also has a youthful charm that makes her quite likable with her character and personality. Even though she teases Nishikata, it’s not just teasing. Whenever they interact, she wants to know him more, and as a result, they grow closer.

Nishikata is pretty much the boy who gets beaten by Takagi, the master of tease. With a thrilling feel, the show often tries to make the audience anticipate whether or not he will ever win over her.

Whether it’s easy games involving erasers or more complex mind games that include emotions, it’s a show that categorizes games as more than just winning. Nishikata himself is an average kid with an average personality and living an average life.
