Could Morbius And Blade Cross Paths In The Future? Jared Leto Seems To Think So

Releasing in January 2022 is the Jared Leto starrer ‘Morbius’ that puts an anti-hero in the limelight of the same name. Morbius is a biochemist who gets turned into a“living” vampire with superhuman abilities, and he is a character from Marvel comics. Although the character of Morbius does not directly come under the banner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the presence of Adrian Toomes a.k.a The Vulture from ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ in the film creates some connection between the two and making Morbius a part of MCU’s extended universe. Not only this, but the trailer of the film features graffiti on one of the walls in the background labeling Spider-Man as a “murderer,” meaning this takes place after the events of ‘Spider-Man: Far from Home.’

Why this would be an organic crossover

Jared Leto, who plays the lead role in ‘Morbius’ was asked in an interview what he thinks about his character crossing paths with the new Blade, a vampire hunter, played by Mahershala Ali in the upcoming reboots of the original ‘Blade’ trilogy that will be a part of the MCU. Appreciating the thoughtful question, Leto responded that he would love to see that happen and thinks it’s a theory that has quite some potential for the future of both ‘Morbius’ and ‘Blade’ films. The condition that Morbius suffers from makes him a natural rival of someone like Blade, who not only reflects the powers of those he battles but also leaves out all of their weaknesses from being reflected by him at the same time.
