“Devotion” is a fictional story. A new trailer for Sony Pictures’ upcoming film “Devotion” has been published. J.D. Dillard directed the film, which is based on Adam Makos’ nonfiction bestseller “Devotion: An Epic Story of Heroism, Friendship, and Sacrifice.” In the trailer, we meet two Korean War pilots, Jesse Brown (“Loki”) and Tom Hudner (“Top Gun: Maverick”), who are both played by Jonathan Majors (“Loki”). Even if war movies aren’t generally my cup of tea, if those two actors are in a film, I’m in. When it comes to movies set during a pandemic, timing is everything, and after “Top Gun: Maverick,” we’re seeing Powell back in an aircraft.

The script for Devotion was written by Jake Crane and Jonathan A. H. Stewart. The film’s music was composed by Name. The film’s cinematography was created by Name. Christina Jackson plays Jesse’s wife Daisy Brown, Thomas Sadoski plays Dick Cevoli, and Joe Jonas plays Marty Goode, with Rossy de Palma, Darryl Kagasoff, and Nick Hargrove rounding out the group.

The novel is about Lieutenant Tom Hudner and Ensign Jesse Brown, who was the Navy’s first Black carrier pilot during a time when America was still divided, according to the blurb.Navy Fighter Squadron 32 was their opponent. Elizabeth Taylor appears in the plot, and Serinda Swan, who portrayed her in “Inhumans,” will play her.

Tom and Jesse are caught in the middle of a North Korean invasion at the Chosin Reservoir. When one is shot down, the other must choose between saving his companion and attempting “history’s most ambitious one-man rescue effort.”

Jake Crane and Jonathan A. H. Stewart adapted “Devotion” for the big screen. The film’s producers are Molly Smith, Rachel Smith, Thad Luckinbill, and Trent Luckinbill. It has a PG-13 rating.
