Director Christopher Landon’s Freaky is coming out on DVD and Blu-Ray today, and on this occasion, he has made a statement that fans are now wishing desperately for to come true. Having directed Freaky and Happy Death Day, Landon has made quite the mark in the horror-comedy genre. Freaky tells the story of an unpopular high schooler Millie, who somehow ends up switching bodies with a serial killer as he attempts to murder her and must then find a way to switch back within twenty-four hours. Happy Death Day revolves around Theresa, a college student who relives the day of her murder repeatedly to find the killer.
How would this work?
Earlier, Landon has claimed that he does not believe that Freaky should or could get a sequel, and now, speaking again with ComingSoon, he talks about a crossover between his two films! He said that it is not hard for him to picture Millie and Theresa on the same screen. Even Jessica Rothe, who plays Theresa in Happy Death Day, has talked about this earlier. Stating that she would be more than thrilled to star in this crossover film, she points out that given the similar dark comedic nature of both films, it is not a far-fetched idea, especially with some sci-fi, magic, and more twists thrown in. She loves the fact that she can call Kathryn Newton, who played Millie in Freaky, and Vince Vaughn, who played the butcher in the film, her fellow scream queens.
