What we got from the teaser trailer
‘The Sinners’ deals with themes such as the gothic, macabre and follows a group of seven girls that assign one deadly sin each to themselves before forming a Satan-worshipping cult while living in an overtly religious town. Soon, they begin to understand that maybe they are not the bad guys after all, as the religious people seem ready to take any measure, no matter how extreme, to stop the girls. The trailer sees the seven girls wearing rabbit-like and pig-like masks while they kidnap an innocent, giving off similar vibes as ‘The Purge.’ However, it does not take long for things to go sideways when what started as some heightened teen rebel turns into a battle for their survival.

Inspired by her life events… somewhat
Throughout the trailer, something sinister seems to be at play, letting on that, fans will be in for a blood-filled treat when the film is finally released. The film’s screenplay is written by Erin Hazlehurst and Madison Smith, together with director Paige. In an interview, the director has said that she grew up being a fan of cult horrors, and some of her favourite movies included ‘Jawbreaker’ and ‘Cruel Intentions.’ She could relate to the “seven deadly sins” from ‘The Sinners’ because she grew up in a small town, surrounded by rigid, narrow-minded people and extremely strict households.
