    Japanese Horror Movie ‘Howling Village’ Is On Its Way To Our Screens

    Dread announces the premiere of Takashi Shimizu’s HOWLING VILLAGE in select theatres on August 13 and on demand on August 17!Howling Village is the story of a young psychologist who travels to a haunted town to look into her brother’s disappearance and learn more about her family’s terrible past.

    The plot is as follows: Kanade, a young psychologist, investigates her brother’s disappearance by visiting his last known location, a notorious haunted and cursed spot known as “Howling Village.” Her study reveals that the village’s riddles are linked to her family, and she sets out to learn more about her ancestors’ dark past. What follows is a series of horrifying events that is terrifying to watch.

    Takashi Shimizu is ecstatic that Howling Village will finally be available to audiences in the US and Canada. He is well aware that the release will be keenly anticipated by a strong group of genre fans. And he’s ecstatic to be working with Dread and levelFILM.

    The trailer is terrifying and we see eerie shots of a dilapidated village followed by possessions and creepy incidents after which we see physical manifestations of horrific ghouls. All in all, a scary experience which keeps a horror fan longing for more.

    Shimizu is also regarded as one of the most prominent horror filmmakers. He went on to international success with his debut, Ju-On: The Curse. Following that, the director would go on to make a sequel to his groundbreaking original picture before adapting the premise into two hugely successful American remakes.

    Most crucially, Howling Village will be released on August 13th in select theatres, August 17th on demand, and September 14th on Blu-ray.
