Ridley Scott gifted us with the first Alien film more than four decades ago. It was bleak, contemplative, thrilling, and engrossing. But, despite the passage of four decades, people’s fascination with Xenomorphs appears to be alive and well.
A variety of variables contribute to this relentless enthusiasm and fan base. Another video would be required to explain Aliens’ legacy and influence. One of the most crucial things, though, is the narrative that the Alien films are based on.
In this video, we’ll show you thirteen different versions of the Xenomorph Queen, the most valuable and powerful caste of Aliens. Her Highness will be treated with respect and will not be taken lightly.
She serves as the mother and leader of a XenomorphHive. She is not only the strongest and largest of the Xenomorphs, but she also lays and protects the eggs. And may the good Lord protect anyone or anything that tries to harm her colony or eggs, because she will undoubtedly come after you.
The Queen has been shown in a variety of fascinating ways. Let’s get this thrill journey started, shall we?
The Queen Mother
The title “Queen Mother” was given to her for a reason. She not only outnumbers nearly all known Xenomorphs, but she also commands and controls other Queens. She is basically the supreme commander of the aliens and lives on Xenomorph Prime, the creatures’ own planet.
Regular Xenomorphs may reach a height of 3 metres, whereas Xenomorph Queens can reach a height of 10 metres, or 32 feet. The Queen Mother, however, was described as being 14 metres long and having a 2 metre long skull in the 1993 book Aliens: The Female War.
With such gigantic proportions, there’s hardly a Xenomorph that can challenge Queen Mother’s authority. Queen Mothers also take part in laying eggs, but the primary function is to protect the Royal Jelly.
It’s a substance that allows the transformation of subordinate Xenomorphs like drones or workers into a Queen. Royal Jelly is the only way that a Queen or any other Xenomorph can become a Queen Mother.
That is why the Queen Mother resides in a chamber with six orbs containing the Royal Jelly. She protects the goo to eliminate the possibility of contenders to her throne.She doesn’t have an enhanced head crest like other largeXenomorphs, but boasts a spikey spine and tentacle-like appendages from her mouth.
These flesh whips may work as soundwave receptors. Her tail comes withsharp blades that can easily slice through humans and other inanimate objects, while theclaws are strong enough to desecrate armored vehicles.
The Queen Mother’s most remarkable, though terrifying, ability is her incredibly powerful telepathy. Even if they are on another planet or galaxy, she can converse with tens of thousands of Xenomorphs. In addition, she has the ability to make people have nightmares.
Billie in the novel The Female War, for example, was plagued by nightmares of The Queen Mother beckoning to her. She has the potential to drive others insane as a result of this.
In the novel The Female War, Ellen Ripley captures and takes the Queen Mother to Earth, unleashingXenomorph Prime in a state of anarchy. A drone was chosen to mold into a new Queen Mother, but a separate faction of Xenomorphs called Red Drones intended to have the throne for themselves. The incidents gave birth to a Red Queen Mother. In Aliens: Genocide, humans sidedwith the black Queen Mother but they had an ulterior motive of acquiring the Royal Jelly.
Predalien Queen (Xenomorph/Yautja)
Predalien Queen was first introduced on the planet LV 742 as an unnatural and bio-engineered monster in the 2003 real-time strategy video game AvP: Extinction. She performs much of the same responsibilities as a standard Xenomorph Queen, although her skin is brownish in colour, similar to that of other Predaliens or Predators.
She didn’t have the Predatorean dreadlocks or a second pair of limbs that a conventional Xenomorph queen had, but she did have the mandibles and the customary head crest. Predaliens are created when an alien face-hugger implants itself on a Predator.
The resultant chest burster is a hybrid of Xenomorphs and Yautjas. However, the Predalien Queen didn’t form naturally and was the work of Dr. Samuel Kadinsky, who is also known as the reason behind the formation of the Yellow Xenomorphs.
It’s important to note that the Predalien Queen was created only for the game, and hence she doesn’t have any backstory or lore per se, but it is widely believed that the Predator host was presumably a Bad Blood Predator.
Also, Predators loathe all Predaliens as they consider Predaliens to be an abomination to their race. Naturally, the Predator society sent an elite clan of hunters called the Ancient’s Successors to hunt down the Queen of all abominations. In the game, this led to a three-race war between humans, Predators, and Aliens.
The Acheron (LV-426) Queen
This Queen was born in the year 2179 on Acheron and was in charge of the hive at Hadley’s Hope colony. Her drones continued to bring humans from the colony to act as hosts for the chest bursters, resulting in an increase in the Xenomorph population on the planet.
After days of no communication, Ripley and a group of colonial marines were dispatched to the planet. The gang initially clashed with the drones, but the Queen and Ripley eventually met face to face.
The fight revealed a lot about the Xenomorph queens’ nature and intelligence. The drones had taken away a young girl named Newt to the Queen. When Ripley arrived to save Newt, she threatened to destroy all the eggs if Newt and herself were harmed. The Queen obliged and allowed them a free passage.
But a chest burster cracked out of one of the eggs, forcing Ripley to burn the nest with her flamethrower and destroy the ovipositor with grenades. This enraged the Queen, and she pursued Ripley and Newt, sneaking onto theColonial Marines’ dropship.Finally, Ripley used a P 5000 Power Loader to throw the Queen out of the ship and into outer space.
These incidents demonstrated Xenomorph Queen’s superior learning and thinking ability, for how else would an elevator be used? Second, she demonstrated higher emotional and social abilities in the nest, as she obviously negotiated with Ripley.
The Queen realised she was stuck in a stalemate, and the only way out was for Ripley to flee. However, once Ripley hurled her off the ship, the Queen’s cunning became more apparent in the events that followed.
The Queen had been successful in bringing a Royal Egg aboard. Later, it mutated into a super face-hugger and clung to Ripley. Ripley’s escape pod crash-landed on Fiorina 161 while she was carrying a Xenomorph Queen embryo.
The Cloned Queen on Auriga
After getting impregnated by a super facehugger, Ellen Ripley chose to kill herself as well as the chest burster queen that was gestating inside her. She jumped into a giant furnace but scientists from WeylandYutani Corp. were able to retrieve Ripley’s DNA and preserved it.
The company United Systems Military used this DNA to create a clone of Ripley aboard the spacecraft Auriga, but their ultimate goal was to get their hands on the Queen. However, the cloning process was failing miserably because Xenomorph DNA had become implanted in Ripley’s body.
Seven clones died prematurely due to genetic problems, but the eighth appeared to be successful. The Queen was surgically removed by USM, and she began producing eggs almost immediately.
The face-huggers were given human hosts by a group of mercenaries. Auriga soon became home to numerous cloned Xenomorphs, as well as the Cloned Queen. They were studied and fed under the close supervision of the scientists, but the Xenomorphs escaped their imprisonment and started to wreak havoc.
Somehow, the Queen could bring a drastic transformation in the way she reproduced. She was able to transform her egg sack into a womb and instead of laying eggs, she could now give birth to Xenomorphs.
It is unknown how she could change her viscera but this change on a genetic level freed her from the want of hosts for further reproduction. The Cloned Queen then gave birth to a humanoid Xenomorph who communicated in low growls that had human sounding tones.
This new Xenomorph could instinctively see Ripley 8 as its mother instead of the Cloned Queen. The newborn went ahead to kill the Cloned Queen in order to save Ripley 8. If we come to think about it, this was an extremely tricky and confusing situation.
The Cloned Queen can be considered to be an off spiring of Ripley 8, but Cloned Queen borrowed the human reproductive system from Ripley 8 and ultimately gave birth to a humanoid Xenomorph which in turn thought that Ripley 8 was its mother. Or was she its grandmother of sorts?
The Specimen 6 Queen
In the 2010 video game Alien vs. Predator, Specimen 6 Xenomorph proved to be the most favorite of the species in a long line of games and films. It was bred under a controlled environment and captivity by Dr. Groves under Karl Bishop Weyland’s orders.
Specimen 6 came out as a chest burster and was to enter a containment tube, but it retreated back into the human host and came out from the mouth when it sensed hostility.
So, even as a juvenile, Specimen 6 was extremely intelligent. Its escape attempt was thwarted by Dr. Groves, who wanted to kill it. However, Weyland wanted the alien alive so that it could be experimented upon.
Specimen 6 was then given the name after being branded with the number six on its skull. The scientists put her through a series of experiments to determine her lethality, including allowing human technicians and guards to become prey.
It heard the pleas for help from a captured Xenomorph Queen during one of these sessions and sought to flee captivity to aid it, but Dr. Groves stopped it once more. The Weyland Corporation built a Yautja Pyramid, but the result was disastrous due to a shockwave created by the pyramid.
The force was so great that most of the security systems got disabled, and Specimen 6 found a way out of its captivity. It quickly united with its siblings and freed them, and together all the Xenomorphs attempted to liberate the Queen.
In these ordeals, Specimen 6 showcased great intelligence by smashing the console to free its siblings, cutting the power of the Queen’s cell, and ultimatelyopening the facility’s main gate to escape into the jungles.
Later, Six came face-to-face with a Yautja Elite and Young Blood Yautja. The elite had the upper hand for most of the fight but Six played dead and allowed the Yautja to get into a vulnerable position, allowing Six to attack its tail.
The combat droids of Weyland eventually captured six, but she transformed into a Queen and massacred all her captors. The Specimen Six Queen was by far anextremely smart Xenomorph, and possibly the cleverest that we have ever come across.
The Matriarch
The Matriarch first appeared in the 2010 game Aliens vs. Predators as an ally of Specimen 6 and later as a formidable boss. She was kidnapped by Yautja hunters thousands of years ago and held captive in their pyramid.
They abandoned the planet after thousands of years of manipulating her and left her to fend for herself. Weyland’s troops eventually found and seized her when she grew elderly and frail. She was utilised by the scientists to give birth to a large number of Xenomorphs, notably Specimen 6.
The Matriarch was paler than the other Xenomorphs, which could be explained by her advanced age. She couldn’t fend for herself, but she had influence over her kids even as she grew older.
Her constant cries of help provoked Specimen 6 to break its captivity and save The Matriarch. Another notable feature of The Matriarch was the several scars on her face and crest. These marks signified the long and battle-weary life she had led.
After their escape, The Matriarch quickly set up an ovipositor and started laying eggs. She ordered Specimen 6 and its siblings to get as many hosts as possible. Soon, the Xenomorphs were a strong army of a few thousand.
However, The Matriarch was killed by the Marine Rookie and the neural shock wave was so strong that it paralyzed all Xenomorphs on the planet, including Specimen 6. This is how Specimen 6 was captured, but the Matriarch’s legacy lived on as Specimen 6 itself became a Queen.
It is well known that The Matriarch and her kids are natural Xenomorphs who were not manufactured by humans. She lived a long life, fighting not just Predators and other Xenomorphs, but also humans, before dying a heroic death.
Flying Queen
Flying Xenomorphs have played a role in a Xenomorph civilization’s social structure by filling diverse roles. They can function as Drones or Warriors, contributing to the hive’s defensive and offensive strategies.
They can either remain the hive’s general protectors in this role, or they can be chosen by the Queen to undergo further change and become Praetorians. The Flying Queen is undoubtedly the most underappreciated but most devastating of the Xenomorph Queens.
Despite being a fearsome avian beast, she has never been featured in the mainstream media. She has made appearances in four mini-comics called Aliens: Night Strike, Aliens: Swarm, Operation and Aliens: Space Marines, and the arcade game Aliens:.
The Flying Queen has been portrayed in various ways, but her characteristic features remain the same. She is shown as a vast dragon-like creature with a tremendous wingspan; these appendages could range from black to blue in color, and the texture could be membraned or thick.
Her tail is highly advanced, which she uses for various purposes, like navigation and attacking. A notable feature of our Flying Queen is that she boasts two pairs of clawedhands. The larger pair is used for attacking her prey, while the smaller one is used for lifting objects.
Vampiric Queen
Vampirella is a vampire in the comic Aliens Vampirella Despite her vampire nature, Vampirella is a decent and caring individual who collaborates with people. Because of strange activity, she and a few people investigate a cave. They discover many Xenomorph eggs in the cave.
The eggs are triggered by human closeness, which causes them to release face-hugger. Vampirella was impregnated by a royal chest burster, and the resultant chest burster was a Xenomorph Queen.
Everyone else perished, but Vampirella lived thanks to her supernatural healing abilities. The Vampire Queen resembles Xenomorphs who were conceived from humans, except she has wings.
Furthermore, the process of her development into an adult was highly accelerated. In the end, Vampirella and the Vampire Queen engaged in a high-octane battle. However, the Vampire Queen is not the first vampiric Xenomorph as a similar crossover was seen in a short named Buffy the Vampire Slayer: In Space, No One Can Hear You Slay.
Empress
The Empress first appeared in the video game Alien vs. Predator 2. Empress was a one-of-a-kind Xenomorph who was born on the planet LV1201 and was larger than other Queens, commanding a vast number of colonies. Dr. Eisenberg was the one who first apprehended her. of the WeylandYutani Corporation, but in the end managed to exact her revenge by severing his limbs and cocooning him.
Queens are thought to be able to increase in proportion to the size of their hives. In other words, the Queen grows in proportion to the size of the hive. The Empress appears to be a very old Queen who, as her nest grew, altered and evolved into even larger proportions.
She was able to rule other Queens while yet being under Queen Mother’s supervision in this role. The Empress is an extremely uncommon Xenomorph with a robust exoskeleton that can withstand armor-piercing shots, making her equally lethal. Her crest looks to be two-layered and more elaborate than past Queens’ crests.
A special kind of Empress is the War Empress. These beasts are formed when a Xenomorph is in a state of battle, with the transformation taking place as a result of a genetic and evolutionary response.
It is important to note that, whilethe Empress might not necessarily grow in size, her exoskeleton can get tougher by about 70 percent. This ability makes them extremely hard to kill, so beware if you ever come across an Empress.
The Antarctic Queen
The Antarctic Queen was a powerful and dangerous Xenomorph Queen who appeared in the 2004 film Alien vs. Predator as the major adversary. She was kidnapped by Predators and imprisoned in a pyramid for several thousand years so that she might give birth to progeny that the Predators could utilise for the ritual of passage.
Scar, Celtic, and Chopper were ordered to fight Xenomorphs and get themselves blooded five thousand years later. Humans, on the other hand, awoke the Queen, and she began laying eggs.
The face-huggers inserted themselves on the humans once the eggs hatched. As the three Predators arrived at the spot, they learned about the newly born Xenomorphs. They were first encountered by a Xenomorph named Grid, who had leadership qualities but lived to serve the Queen. Celtic and Chopper were killed by Grid in a heated battle. However, Scar and a human survivor named Alexa managed to kill several other Xenomorphs.
Learning about the deaths of her offsprings, the Antarctic Queen gave out cries of help and Grid arrived to her rescue. Grid learned that the Xenomorph blood had corrosive abilities and used that knowledge tocut the Antarctic Queen so that her acidic blood would corrode the chains that were keeping her grounded.
However, Grid and its siblings were killed by the self-destructive device of Scar. This slaughter of her offsprings enraged the Antarctic Queen, and a battle ensued between her on one side and Alexa and Scar on the other. Alexa stabbed the Queen in the throat while Scar pierced her head with his spear, but the old Xenomorph was more resilient than they presumed.
In a final move, Alexa and Scar got hold of one of her chains and fixed it to a water tower, intending to push it down the cliff and freeze the Queen. They succeeded, but the success came at the cost of Scar’s death, as The Antarctic Queen mortally wounded him.
The Queen operated similarly to other Xenomorph Queens, but she was clearly much larger than the original Acheron Queen. Her figure was also sleeker, thinner, and more muscular than those who had previously graced these films.
Queen (LV-223)
Queen of the moon LV 223 appeared in the comics Prometheus: Life, Death, and Aliens: Life, Death, and Aliens: Life, Death, and Aliens: Life, Death, and Her appearance is that of a significantly mutated Xenomorph, although the source of her mutation is unclear.
Her strange appearance could be the result of her gestating inside a moon native organism, or she could have come into contact with chemical A0- 15. In Prometheus: Life and Death, colonial marines come discover the Engineers’ ship and engage in a gunfight with the Yautjas, who are also looking for the old yet superior technology.
The humans, on the other hand, understand what it’s like to be at the bottom of the food chain as the Engineer inside the spacecraft reawakens.
In the follow-up Aliens Life and Death, the humans take the help of the Xenomorph Queen on LV 223 by convincing her that the Ancient God is a threat to herself and her hive. As the Engineer was approaching her hive, the Queen erupted from the ground and attacked it. A tense battle began, but the Queen was able to pierce the Engineer with her tail.
Red Queen Mother
As previously stated, in the Female War comics, Ellen Ripley captures and transports the Queen Mother to Earth, leaving Xenomorph Prime in chaos. Alien Genocide is the result of these occurrences.
The royal guards start moulting a drone to get a new Queen Mother after the last Queen Mother is captured on Xenomorph Prime. Many Xenomorphs from a different faction see this as an opportunity and construct their own Queen Mother.
Eventually, a Red Queen Mother is born, and the Xenomorph Civil War begins with her. In this fight, humans joined with the Black Xenomorphs for one simple reason: they sought to grab the Royal Jelly while the two groups fought each other to a halt.
The creators of the literature said that the red color was only given to illustrate in the comics. In reality, the two factions would smell different or have some similar intangible difference.The Red Xenomorph is not a single Alien but a different race of Xenomorphs, who were introduced in Alien: Genocide.
Interestingly, this is one of the most relatable yet dark comics from Dark Horse Comics sheerly because it contains elements like genocide, civil wars, and racism. These themes were once again touched on in a series called Aliens: DNA War.
Ryushi Queen
On the planet Ryushi, Machiko Noguchi was asked to oversee a ranching colony known as Prosperity Wells. Prosperity Wells was invaded by a Yautja hunting team soon after she gained command, who unleashed Xenomorphs for unblooded Yautjas to kill and get blooded.
Later in the comics, we see The Ryushi Queen teaming up with the Killer Predators, a Bad Blood Predator clan. This Queen was similar to the other ordinary Queens except for her crest, which was in the shape of a three-pronged triangle, whereas the other Queens’ crests were in the shape of a T.
