Lee Cronin’sEvil Dead Rise, a fresh new episode in the Evil Dead franchise that will air on HBO Max, is more than halfway finished.
Since production began, Cronin has been posting behind-the-scenes photos from the set on the social media site Twitter, and a few fresh additions in recent days hint to two things: bloodshed and Easter eggs.
Among the easter eggs that have been thrown our way, a pizza box from “Henrietta’s Pizzeria” will be shown in the film which is a hilarious tribute to Ted Raimi’s renowned character from Sam Raimi’s sequel Evil Dead II!
Henrietta Knowby, who recently made a cameo in “Ash vs. Evil Dead,” is the wife of Professor Raymond Knowby, who was the franchise’s first Kandarian Demon victim. Raymond confined Henrietta in the fruit cellar, and Ash had to deal with her in Evil Dead II.

The plotline follows a road-weary Beth who makes an overdue visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three children on her alone in a tiny L.A. apartment in the sixth Evil Dead film. The sisters’ reunion is cut short when a mysterious book is discovered deep within Ellie’s building, releasing flesh-eating demons and forcing Beth into a primordial battle for survival as she faces the most terrifying version of motherhood imaginable.
Along with Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan, Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, and Nell Fisher will star in the new film.
Evil Dead Rise is produced by Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, and Robert Tapert. The three have been extremely involved in the project from the beginning, according to Campbell.
Sam Raimi established an American supernatural horror film franchise, Evil Dead, that consists of four feature films and a television series. The series centres on the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, an old Sumerian manuscript that causes havoc among a group of cabin dwellers in a Tennessee woodland area.
