The Predator franchise started in 1987 with John McTiernan’s direction and went on to get three more films added to it. A fifth Predator film is currently in the works, and along with casting calls, some interesting new details have been revealed about the film. Revolving around an extraterrestrial species called Yautja, a.k.a Predator, this science-fiction franchise began with the film Predator (1987), followed by Predator II (1990), Predators (2010), and The Predator (2018). The fifth installment is not yet officially named.
Very limited information has officially been released
A fan site called AVP Galaxy has dedicated solely to the Predator and the Alien franchise, and although this is all their speculation, it is well researched and supports their claims. Director Dan Trachtenberg, who also worked on 10 Cloverfield Lane, announced on his official Twitter handle recently that he has been working on a new 20th Century Studios film for almost four years now. 20th Century has distributed all four of the previous Predator films and Alien vs. Predator, where Yautja is an anti-hero. Other official information regarding the upcoming fifth installment includes that Patrick Aison has written the screenplay for it.

Putting two and two together
In 2019, it was also announced that both Trachtenberg and Aison are working on a film called Skulls and the little detail about its plot includes it being about a Comanche woman who goes on to become a warrior by defying norms. When this information is compared to that we have about Predator V, which will be set in the past and explore Native American dynamics before European settlers came in, it seems like they might not be two different films after all! Fans speculate that Skulls could either be a working title for Predator V or may be what the film is officially going to be titled.
The film could make a groundbreaking impact with its cast
As exciting as all this conjecture is turning out to be, we cannot do anything except wait for the makers to finalise a title and announce it, but what we can give some extra thought to is the fact that this will be the first time that a major Predator instalment will be diving into some Native American culture, featuring an entire cast made up of First Nation people.
