First Look At Petrifying New Shots From Upcoming Australian Horror ‘The Possessed’

Australian director Chris Sun has fans of the genre gearing up for his upcoming horror thriller ‘The Possessed.’ The film is releasing in July this year and stars former contestants of ‘The Bachelor,’ a reality show where people find their ideal match. After the film’s recent poster release featuring ominous imagery, a few first-look photos have now been unveiled, showing off some brilliant makeup and CGI.

The images boast high-quality special effects

One of the behind-the-scenes photos shows a blood-covered creature with splatter marks on the wall where writing reads “death is here.” Another BTS scene is captured where a grotesque-looking creature stares eerily at something while a girl sitting behind him grins. There are three photos featuring exorcism scenes with one showing off some modern technology for what seems like checking for possession signs, one of them capturing a team of enthusiastic people wanting to (perhaps) participate in an exorcism and one explicitly showing an exorcism taking place. The scariest two photos remain a new, more horrifying poster that gives off gorefest vibes and a close-up shot of one of the characters, a blonde woman, who is possessed as her eyes have turned pale blue with black veins stretching across her face and neck like tree vines latching on.

Synopsis for the film

The story revolves around Jacob, played by ‘Wolf Creek’ actor John Jarratt, who has an extraordinary gift that helps him interact with the supernatural. As he makes life easier by helping people who have been possessed, he is convinced that nobody else can do the work he does. That is, until he meets his nephew’s girlfriend Atalie, played by Lauren Grimson, and realises immediately that she has the same gift as him and can help him save the world from the wrath of death in a newly started epidemic of too many demonic possessions.
