AMC’s post-apocalyptic horror series The Walking Dead has recently come out with the teaser for its eleventh and final season. Most of the filming is carried out in the state of Georgia, USA.

Where we left off and what we can expect in the upcoming season

The show is about a group of people trying to survive an end of the world style zombie apocalypse. The humans are not only at threat of zombies, called walkers by the show but also under constant threat from other humans as well. In the tenth season, we saw the end of the Whisperers War with the fall of Alpha, played by Samantha Morton. The last six episodes of the season show the survivors rise once again after the war, which left the Kingdom and Hilltop destroyed and Alexandria abandoned. Season 11 is expected to put Daryl, Maggie, and the other survivors on the way to the Commonwealth.

A successful show so far, although the popularity has dipped in the last few seasons

The show is adapted from comics by Frank Darabont, who, interestingly, left the show after the first season and right now has multiple lawsuits against AMC.  The show’s success is a big contributor to it continuing to air for 11 seasons. Statistically speaking, the third season has attracted the most 18-49-year-old viewers for any TV series. The show has a large ensemble cast which included Andrew Lincoln as the lead till the 9th season, and others like Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Melissa McBride, and Danai Gurira.
