Funded By Kickstarter, Drawing Monsters Is An Upcoming Documentary Dedicated To Hellboy Creator Mike Mignolia

When speaking of Hellboy, the two names that are sure to come to mind by the association are Guillermo del Toro and Neil Marshall. Though both of these artists helped bring the character to life on the big screen, they were not the ones who created it. The demon warrior who protects the Earth from out-worldly threats was created originally by Mike Mignola and has since appeared in countless comics, feature films, animation and video games. Thanks to the fundraising through Kickstarter, Mignola is now getting a documentary based on his career, announced The Hollywood Reporter.

What we know about the project so far

The documentary will be feature-length and is called Drawing Monsters. Through this, fans can get an exclusive first-hand look into the comic artist’s world that is full of action, superheroes, fantasy, and horror! Drawing Monsters will be directed by Kevin Hanna and Jim Demonakos and features interviews from Doug Jones, Neil Gaiman, Adam Savage and of course, the man himself- Mignola. Calling him one of the most influential comic book creators, the Kickstarter campaign for this documentary urges people to fund it so that after having given so many years of fame to Hellboy, Mignola can have some of the limelight for himself as well.
