Is “Good Grief: Season 2” based on a true story?
“Good Grief: Season 2” is a fictional story. The irreverent New Zealand comedy Good Grief’s second season will debut in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom on Thursday, August 4, as a binge release on Sundance Now, before making its North American two-episode broadcast premiere on IFC starting on Wednesday, August 17.
The six-episode comedy series, which was co-created, co-written, and stars Eve and Grace Palmer as well as co-creator/co-writer Nick Schaedel, is set in a small New Zealand town and centers on two millennial sisters who have very different personalities and who inherit a funeral home from their grandfather.
Plot- Ellie (Eve Palmer) and Gwen Goode (Grace Palmer, Adrift), who both inherited the Loving Tributes funeral home in Season 1, have taken quite different directions since then. Ellie embraces her inner “girlboss,” along with the ill-fitting pantsuits, amateur TV commercials, and liaisons with plumbers that go along with it. Gwen, meantime, spends five months DJing in Bali before abruptly showing up in New Zealand to find that their mother has been expelled from the family home and has a new lover. Gwen moves in with Ellie, starts working as Loving Tributes’ social media manager, and launches a crude prank war against their mother’s new boyfriend. Ellie must choose whether to step in and diffuse the situation or leave Gwen to mature on her own as family conflicts at home and at work worsen.
The Legend of Baron To’a and My Life is Murder director Kiel McNaughton has directed Good Grief, Season 2 and Angela Cudd (I Am Waru) and Kerry Warkia (Vai, Waru) are the produers of the same.
