With “Halloween Horror Nights Icons: Captured” returning to Universal Orlando this year, several of the most legendary Halloween Horror Nights villains will be reunited for the first time! The Halloween Horror Nights icons, created as part of Universal Entertainment’s warped goal to develop a slate of unsettling, original characters that rival any horror villain on the big screen. The list is as follows:
The Director, a budding filmmaker obsessed with recording his victims’ pain and torment on film and putting them in their own living horror film
The Usher, who strives to exact retribution on those who do not adhere to his theater’s norms,
The Caretaker, a once-respected surgeon who has developed an unsettling obsession with removing internal organs from awake patients.
Jack the Clown, the original Halloween Horror Nights symbol and the most feared of them all – and his assistant Chance, a lethal duo
The Storyteller, who will go to any length to entice guests into her latest tales of terror, where no one ever lives happily ever after

The most infamous Halloween Horror Nights icons in Universal Orlando history will team up to wreak unfathomable dread on guests in Halloween Horror Nights Icons: Captured, the all-original haunted house. The horrific new experience will transport guests to a nightmarish “Hell of Fame,” where they’ll encounter The Caretaker, The Director, The Usher, The Storyteller, Jack the Clown, Chance, and more.
Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights opens on Friday, September 3 and continues on select nights through Sunday, October 31. With five scare zones, 10 elaborately themed haunted houses, and live entertainment based on everything from horror and pop culture greats to original abominations that go beyond guests’ darkest nightmares. Guests can also visit Universal Studios’ most thrilling coasters and attractions when they need a break from the screams.
