Hearsay Has It That Fortnite Has A Crossover With Five Nights At Freddy’s

The video game Fortnite came out in 2017 and took the world by storm almost immediately. Developed by Epic Games, this game became a household name because of its right to life characters and their unique dance moves. Headed by CEO Tim Sweeney, Epic Games has an excellent track record of video games such as ‘Unreal Tournament’ (1999), ‘Battle Breakers’ (2019), ‘Shadow Complex’ (2009), ‘Infinity Blade’ (2010), ‘Robo Recall’ (2017) and many more that do justice to its name. The game made the headlines recently with its two new guest characters- The Predator and The Terminator- and now, another exciting development might be on its way.

    What started this buzz?

Indie video game Five Nights at Freddy’s was created by Scott Cawthon in 2014. The game’s storyline revolves around a night guard, who the player plays as, at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, who must survive five nights as he gets stalked by animatronics. Hyper, Fortnite’s dataminer, has talked about an encrypted skin in Fortnite called “FrenchFry,” in a recent interview. This has sparked rumours all over the fanbase about a Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover with Fortnite.

Is it, after all, valid speculation?

All of this conjecture is simply based on the fact that the initials of the codename “FrenchFry” match the initials of Freddy Fazbear and hence could be a hint. However, no official sources from Fortnite or FNAF have responded to any of these rumours, and neither have they in any way confirmed them. Fans believe that a crossover’s theories are not all that far-fetched given how characters from other video games have previously made appearances in Fortnite.
