In the three-part series “Homicide Hunter: Never Give Up,” Lt. Joe Kenda returns to investigate more cases that kept him up at night. The death of 20-year-old active-duty soldier Darlene Krashoc was discovered behind a restaurant in Colorado in March 1987, according to the first episode of the series. Lt. Joe Kenda and his crew recollect the string of incidents that took place throughout the investigation and the numerous leads that led nowhere after becoming the victims of torture and sexual abuse.
But before the investigation is abandoned, Kenda has the foresight to painstakingly wrap and preserve each bit of fluid evidence discovered at the crime scene—a time-consuming and difficult task. What it came to is categorically stated more than three decades later, with the development of new DNA technologies.
In the second part of the series, Kenda investigates the case of Cheryl Anne Pate, a young mother who was put to death in her home in Colorado Springs in September 1986 due to a stabbing. After a lengthy investigation, Kenda is able to identify Cheryl’s killer and bring him to justice.
