Homicide Hunter Never Give Up (2022)

“Homicide Hunter: Never Give Up” is based on true stories. The corpse of Darlene Krashoc, a 20-year-old active-duty soldier, is discovered discarded outside a restaurant in Colorado in March 1987, according to HOMICIDE HUNTER: NEVER GIVE UP. Lt. Joe Kenda and his squad, who were victims of torture and sexual abuse, describe the sequence of incidents that took place during the investigation and the several leads that proved fruitless.

However, before the investigation is closed, Kenda has the foresight to painstakingly wrap and preserve each bit of fluid evidence discovered at the crime site, an expensive and challenging task at the time, observing, “It may never come to anything, but it may come to everything.” Michael David Whyte was identified as Darlene’s killer after more than three decades and the use of new DNA techniques.

In this feature-length episode of HOMICIDE HUNTER, viewers can watch as Kenda and his team meticulously reenact the investigation from 1987 and the 2,000 pages of case data that didn’t help them find Whyte. The name of the specter in the night, justice for Darlene’s parents, and the end of Kenda’s horror are all thanks to the Colorado Springs Police Department’s cold case section and DNA evidence collected at the site more than three decades ago.
