11 Horrifying And Ultra-Violent Ben 10 Villains – Backstories Explored In Detail

A ten-year-old boy discovers an extraterrestrial watch, which allows him to turn into ten different aliens. Sounds too wonderful to be true, doesn’t it? Ben Tennyson from Ben 10 was one of the lucky kids who got his hands on the all-powerful Omnitrix and went on to become one of the most popular cartoon characters of the 2000s. Ben would team up with his magician sister Gwen and his grandfather to save the world from alien invaders.

Ben’s aliens were considerably cooler than most cartoon characters in the first decade of the twentieth century, and the adversaries he fought were equally badass. We will take a look at some of the Ben 10 Universe’s darkest and most brutal villains in this video. While the Ben 10 series has some outstanding villains, we have brought you a varied bag of antagonists. Some are well-known for their strength and abilities, while others are less well-known but just as dangerous. Let us go right to the point, shall we?

    Vilgax

    Vilgax

Vilgax is a being from the planet of Vilgaxia. He’s essentially a conquerer and a warlord who serves as Ben’s prime nemesis, and even Ben considers him to be one of his most formidable opponents. The intergalactic thug appears as the most recurring villain in the entire series. Although he’s a humanoid, his face looks like an octopus with numerous tentacles dangling like a beard. His skin is greenish, with pale spots on his tentacles and face, lacking a nose and ears, but he does have the most menacing-looking red eyes.

As a villain, he’s cruel and is often considered to be the most dangerous entity in the whole Universe. His goals and ambitions match his description. His prime goal is to get control of the Omnitrix, through which he would be able to create an army of aliens that could transform at his command. This army would ultimately become the key to conquering the Universe. He initially chased Ben only to get hold of the Omnitrix from the kid. But once Ben started constantly beating him and imprisoned him in the Null Void, Vilgax’s hatred for Ben grew manifold. In fact, he wished to kill Ben as much as he wanted to possess the Omnitrix.

Despite his constant failures, courtesy of Ben, he has still conquered ten worlds, annihilated five, and also successfully created a black hole. Naturally, he’s more formidable than one can imagine and shouldn’t be taken lightly. Since apart from Psyphon, no other sentient life-form wishes to work for him or serve under him, he is forced to work with armies of drones that are programmed to serve as his soldiers and crew.

Vilgax was exiled from his home planet Vilgaxia in 1773 on charges of ambitious disobedience. He came to Earth after receiving a distress signal from a Maltraunt who was time traveling. On Earth, he came across Ben and was surprised to see how the little kid could transform into several aliens, which made him smitten with the Omnitrix.

He has superhuman abilities, and even without his cybernetic augmentation, he can successfully defeat most of Ben’s more powerful aliens with ease. When in water, he transforms into his true form, which looks like an octopus, hence displaying metamorphosis. However, after getting the cybernetic enhancements, he gets considerably bigger, and his strength, speed, stamina, and durability are exponentially exaggerated. He’s known to have gained the powers and abilities of all the champions he has defeated in the past. Last but not least, he has got shapeshifting arms and laser eyes.

    Dagon

    Dagon

Dagon had come to Earth with his Lucubra army during the Medieval period and tried to invade Earth. But Sir George, who was the first forever knight and the evil organization’s true leader, defeated Dagon by cutting out its heart with Ascalon, a weapon that he received from Azmuth. You should know that Azmuth is a master inventor and creator, but his greatest invention probably is the Omnitrix. Some consider him to be the smartest being in the Universe. Dagon can exist in various forms through metamorphosis.

For instance, he looks black in color in his dragon form with a green underbelly and red, evil eyes. At the end of the series, Dagon is revealed as a huge creature that bears an uncanny resemblance to a giant green octopus. In this true form, he grows brown armor over his body and becomes a hulking monster. His arrogance and insatiable hunger for power are as giant as his stature. He considers himself to be godlike; an invincible entity that is deemed to control the world. Despite treating almost everyone as mere nuisances and trivial, powerless beings, Dagon does respect the powerful and the strong.

In the episode titled “The Flame Keepers’ Circle”, his appearance was revealed through a carving. He was introduced as an extra-dimensional god who had come to Earth a thousand years ago and bestowed humanity with technology. Furthermore, it was stated that he would return once again as he had sworn to bring the Golden age to Earth, a period where humanity will not know war and disease and only live in peace and prosperity. In the episode “A Knight to Remember”, Dagon took control of both Winston and Gwen and told them that if Vilgax got hold of Dagon’s heart, the intergalactic conqueror would rule over all of the Universe.

In the two-part episode “The Ultimate Enemy”, Dagon not only turned all humans into an Esoterica but took over Gwen as well. However, he couldn’t get his hands on Ben, Julie, and Sir George. In the second part of this episode, Dagon sent his herald, Vilgax, to finish Sir George. Here Ben transforms into the alien Way Big, who then transformed into Ultimate Way Big. However, Dagon easily destroys Ultimate Way Big, by showering him with acid rain. In the end, Dagon got sucked into a machine that absorbed the powers of living creatures. Interestingly enough, Dagon is heavily inspired by the short story of H. P. Lovecraft. Both Ben 10’s and Lovecraft’s Dagon are powerful aliens with mind-bending powers and resemble an octopus.

    Aggregor

    Aggregor

“Once I have all your powers combined, nothing can stop me from attaining the ultimate prize!”

    Aggregor to his prisoners.

Aggregor served as Ben’s prime antagonist for the first half of the first season of “Ben 10: Ultimate Alien”. His prime intention was to acquire the powers of five aliens, to obtain the Map of infinity that would, in turn, allow him to find the place called the Forge of Creation. This would make him capable of absorbing the powers of a Baby Celestial Sapien, making him omnipotent and the ultimate conqueror of the Universe.

He finds the first piece of the Map of Infinity inside a temple that was plagued with several traps. The temple was located on a strange planet that was divided into two equal halves; one half was as hot as the sun, while the other had sub-zero temperatures. He found the second piece of the map on a watery planet with no land. He retrieves the third piece from a warlord.

The fourth and final piece, Aggregor retrieves from the Sentinel, the guardian of a planetoid named Perplexahadron. He chances upon the Forge of Creation after finding all the four parts of the map. Here, he got an infant Celestial Sapien but had to fight young and teenage versions of Kevin, Gwen, and Ben. Before he could absorb the power of the Celestial Sapien, Kevin stopped him, only to absorb his powers which left him unconscious.

His fate was also left uncertain. Interestingly, he was the first villain who was defeated by someone apart from Ben, and the second such main villain was Dagon. Aggregor was an expert spearman and strategist with enhanced tracking skills. He could absorb almost anything or aggregate things into himself like energy, life force, matter, DNA, etc. Apart from his excellent hand-to-hand combat skills, he held immense strength, durability, stamina, and dexterity. But he wasn’t all brawned and had no brains because he had a vast knowledge of alien races and the secrets that the depths of the Universe held.

    Albedo

    Albedo

Ben Tennyson? A most difficult creature to find, but I must see you. I am Albedo of the Galvan.

    ~ Albedo

Albedo is the former assistant of Azmuth, the creator of Omnitrix. He turned himself into Ben’s clone while attempting to recreate the Omnitrix. Since his transformation, Albedo holds hatred against Ben and continually seeks revenge. He looked astonishingly similar to Ben in his first appearance. However, when his and Ben’s Omnitrixes reacted, his Omnitrix damaged his DNA and inverted his hair color to white, jacket red, etc.

His Galvan form was seen in the episode “Double or Nothing”. He looked like Azmuth but had red eyes, paler skin, and no wrinkles or tendrils which could be because of his young age. Albedo has always been an intelligent soul, one of the most brilliant minds in the galaxy. He used to be caring and considerate, but his superior intelligence caused him to look down on others eventually. He ended up becoming an entirely bitter, ambitious, and arrogant being who bore extreme animosity against Ben for wearing the Omnitrix, and Azmuth for taking the credit of being the sole creator of the Omnitrix.

Having Ben’s DNA, he inherited the same nuances and cravings as Ben, for instance, utter love for chili fries, although Albedo hates these human weaknesses. Coming back to his strife with Azmuth, he had requested Azmuth for an Omnitrix for himself, a request that Azmuth blatantly denied because there couldn’t be two Omnitrix. To get what he wanted, Albedo lost his Galvan self and transformed into Ben’s clone.

As a fighter, he is potent, which he displayed by defeating Kevin and Gwen using Diamondhead and Swampfire, respectively. Even as a human, he successfully knocked out Ben in hand-to-hand combat. However, he doesn’t need an Omnitrix to transform because he can do so at will. In the episode “The Final Battle”, Albedo used a newer version of the Omnitrix called the Ultimatrix. However, Ben later took away the device from Albedo. In Omniverse, he once again tried to build an Ultimatrix, but this time around, Azmuth took it away from him.

    Charmcaster

    Charmcaster

You don’t know anything! You’re not even a real sorceress. You’re an… an idiot savant!

    ~ Charmcaster

Charmcaster is primarily the nemesis of Gwen and not Ben per se. According to the original continuity, she was the apprentice and niece of Hex, the man who wanted to take over the world with his magic. Like her uncle, she also has a particular proclivity towards magic. Of course, she hates Ben because she’s an evildoer and he’s the good guy, but her hatred is primarily focused on Gwen, who shares Charmcaster’s affinity for magic. Her animosity with Gwen resembles Kevin and Ben’s relationship from the original series.

Another chief reason behind Gwen and Charmcaster’s sour relationship is that Gwen stole Charmcaster’s book of spells to learn how to use her magical powers. Her guise has had shades of magenta and purple throughout the series. Charmcaster didn’t really have a good upbringing as the only father figure she ever saw was her uncle, who was drunk on power and hungry for more.

With Hex as a role model, her life was destined to go on the wrong track. Furthermore, in the episode “A Change of Face”, we saw that as a kid, she had spent some time in Juvenile Hall, where children bullied her. With such childhood, she turned out to be a rude person who shields her insecurities with ego, arrogance, and manipulation. She strives to prove to others her superiority, most of all to Gwen, of whom she’s jealous and almost envious.

Addwaitya, who’s also considered to be the most powerful magician of the Universe, had killed Charmcaster’s father. Surprisingly, she managed to defeat him, and that gave her a sense of redemption. She is an eternally troubled girl who even tried to follow the good path a few times but always ended up on the other side. As a magician, she can levitate, control minds and the elements of nature as well as bring inanimate things to life. Furthermore, she can teleport, shapeshift, transform into a dragon, etc. Although she is not as powerful as Hex, she can prove to be a challenging enemy.

    Hex

    Hex

This guy is a self-proclaimed Master Magician whose only wish is to take over the world by force of his magic.  Hex’s brother Spellbinder was killed by Addwaitya. After Spellbinder’s death, he took in his daughter Charmcaster and raised her as his apprentice. Once upon a time, he had five mystical charms, also called the Charms of Bezel. These gave him facilities like luck, lightning, reincarnation, fire, levitation, and so on. Interestingly enough, he also served as a professor at Friedkin University.

Ironically, Gwen was his student and started to take a keen interest in him as a professor, to later become formidable enemies. Hex joined the university after assuming that he had lost his niece. As a man, he has an insatiable hunger for power and can go to any lengths to master his magic. He wasn’t prepared to take up the parental responsibilities of Charmcaster, and almost always treated her badly and strictly.

He demanded that his orders be answered with a “yes, uncle.” That’s not very child-friendly if you know what we mean! Having said that, he has a softer side and it is evident that he truly loves his niece, despite the way he treats her. As was the case with Charmcaster, Hex also holds more grudges against Gwen than Ben, often reiterating the fact that he wants his revenge on Gwen rather than Ben.

In the episode “Lucky Girl”, Hex attempted to steal an ancient book of spells named Archamada Book of Spells. The book would have given him immense powers when combined with the Charms of Bezel and his inherent magical powers. However, his Charm of Luck went to Gwen’s possession, who quickly learned to use its powers. Eventually, Gwen destroys the other charms. In the episode titled “Tough Luck”, Charmcaster broke him out of prison and the two of them went on the quest to find the Keystone of Bezel, which he wanted to use to recreate his five lost charms. However, Gwen once again seized the Keystone of Bezel, only to get attacked by Hex and Charmcaster. Hex fails again as Ben interferes and Charmcaster betrays him.

    Aloysius Animo

    Aloysius Animo

Doctor Aloysius James Animo, or Dr. Animo, was once an exceptional researcher in the field of veterinary science. Owing to his over-ambitious nature, he started to carry out crude and torturous genetic experiments on animals. He had hoped to win the Verties Award, which was presented to people of excellence in the field of veterinary science. Due to the twisted nature of his experiments, he lost the award to another scientist named Kelly. The event drove him crazy, and he went underground for almost five years in hopes of perfecting his research.

In the episode titled “Washington B.C”, he came out of hiding after finishing his work, but now his skin had become yellowish-green. With the help of Ben’s enemy named Clancy, who could telepathically and emphatically control bugs and other anthropods, Dr. Animo devised a headgear that could do the same with animals and even aliens like the Null Guardians. He’s a genius scientist who’s skilled and dexterous with genetic experiments as well as machines. He uses his brilliant brain to augment his powers of telepathically controlling animals and beasts. Furthermore, the device named Trans Modulator can mutate animals into powerful and dangerous beings, and can also reanimate long-extinct species to serve as his minions.

    Zs’Skayr

    Zs’Skayr

Zs’Skayr, also called Ghostfreak, was the main antagonist of Season 3 and Season 5 of “Ben 10: Omniverse”. Initially, Zs’Skayr was the High Ecto-Lord of the Ectonurites of Anur Phaetos. Naturally, he’s one of Ben’s most terrifying and formidable opponents, who was initially stuck as Ghostfreak but later managed to escape the Omnitrix. Zs’Skayr’s personality would become apparent whenever Ben transformed into Ghostfreak.

He soon confronted Ben by tearing out of the skin and revealing his monstrously intimidating form. It took over the Circus Freak Trio in order to defeat Ben and possess him, but they lost to him. Zs’Skayr then took over Gwen, who Ben fought with Four Arms. He tried several times to possess the little kid but had to taste defeat each time. After an apparent death, a Transylian scientist named Dr. Viktor worked to revive the Ectonurite monster.

Zs’Skayr is known to make brilliant and elaborate schemes to further its intentions. Such plans are almost always well-thought-out, complex, cunning, and resourceful. His prime intent is to gain as much power as possible so that he can control other worlds.

One of his more ingenuine(suggestion innovative) plans was to transform Earth into a world of darkness by cloaking it with Corrodium so that he could rule over Earth. While he is a laborious villain and executes most parts of the plan by himself, he doesn’t shy away from recruiting others like Lord Transul, Kuphulu, Viktor, and others either. He happily resorts to violent displays of power without any restraints against villains alike who are uncooperative or who don’t ally with him. In fact, once he tried to possess Vilgax to take over Vilgaxia. The major cause of his enmity with Ben is the fact that he was trapped in the Omnitrix for a long time and wanted to make Ben feel the same entrapment and sense of claustrophobia.

    Eon

    Eon

Eon was a Chronian, but his planet Chronia was banished out of time itself. He escaped this fate and landed on Earth, where he wished to find the Hand of Armageddon, a powerful weapon that could free his people and allow him to wage war against Earth. But his plans don’t come to fruition, because the plumbers took him in custody and froze him in a cryogenic cell for two hundred years. He managed to thaw out and recruited several ape-like minions to help him procure the weapon he needed. In the episode titled “Ben 10,000 Returns”, it is revealed that Eon was, in fact, another version of Ben himself from another timeline.

He can be considered a psychopath, who would not shy away from messing up timelines to get his hands on what he desires. He can destroy worlds and all of existence if the chance to rule is taken away from him. When in combat, he waits patiently through the fight, taking damage, for the right moment to land his climactic attack. This makes him manipulative and cunning. In “Race Against Time”, his portrayal bears stark resemblances with Darth Vader from the Star Wars franchise.

    Werewolf

    Werewolf

The Werewolf looks like Blitzwolfer from the original show but lacked the Omnitrix symbol. It first appeared in “Benwolf”, where Dr. Viktor sent it to a Navajo Indian reservation to steal communications equipment. Max, Ben, and Gwen, who was visiting the reservation at the time, mistakenly believed it to be a Navajo werewolf or Yenaldooshi. Ben fought it as Wildvine and got bitten.

The Omnitrix timed out between the Capture and Active modes because the Werewolf had scratched it. Due to this, Ben gradually transformed into the Blitzwolfer. The Werewolf was basically a minion of Zs’Skayr and shared immense similarities with Blitzwolfer, even in terms of its powers. It had enhanced strength, durability, agility, stamina, and improved smelling and hearing. It also emitted ultrasonic howls.
