Set Footage Reveals A Comeback For Nazi Villains In Indiana Jones 5

Following the publication of a number of public-shot images from the set of Indiana Jones 5, North Yorkshire Moor Railways published a new video showing some of the best footage yet from recent days of filming. As expected, there is a major Nazi presence in the clip. Indiana Jones 5 is shooting in the North East of England and James Mangold is the director of the picture. Filming has only been going on for a week, but we’ve already seen a lot of behind-the-scenes photos on social media.

The new footage from NYMR’s cameras covering the area is notable for one thing: its clarity and give us a clearer look at several of the set elements, particularly the train with the Nazi insignia imprinted on the carriages and engine.

Since Indy’s debut appearance in Raiders of the Lost Ark, the Nazis have been an adversary in his various journeys. The Nazi involvement in the franchise continued in The Last Crusade, as Indy raced against them to seek the Holy Grail, since the early films were set in the late 1930’s. However, in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the Nazis were replaced with Soviet operatives, and the film’s history was shifted to the mid-1950s, primarily to explain the character’s ageing.

There have been reports that the film will utilise a sequence involving a haunted Scottish castle. With recent breakthroughs in de-aging technology, and it is highly likely that it will be used to put Ford back to his Last Crusade age, bringing the Nazis’ involvement back into the timeline.

We will probably see Indiana Jones face off with the Nazis one last time and the scenes now being shot would fit in perfectly with the old Indiana Jones movies. Sounds like an absolute delight for fans.

We will definitely be on the lookout for teasers and trailers before its release next year!
