Even though there are a lot of isekai anime that are based on video games, very few of them feature dating sims. In fact, before Leon’s animated misadventure, My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! was the exception in the category.

Cedric Jeanne Elmeier, the crown prince and Irene’s childhood friend, publicly breaks off his engagement to Irene and confesses his love for Lilia Rainworth, the game’s lead female character, at the dinner marking the conclusion of the academy’s winter semester. A little child called Natsuki Subaru is kidnapped and sent to another world in the film “Re: Zero.” A magical girl steps in to save him at this point, and as thanks, he chooses to assist the girl in her search for a stolen object. However, things do not go as planned since both of them die while searching for the object. Fortunately for Subaru, he goes back to the beginning and can start over, fixing everything that went wrong the first time. He utilises this ability to protect many other helpless people in this weird new world in addition to the magical girl.
The fact that both programmes are Isekai, in which the lead protagonists, Touya and Subaru, find themselves in other nations, is their one shared feature that immediately stands out. Even though they are highly strong in the new world, the guys aim to accomplish a variety of goals rather than limiting themselves to one.
