The Merkins are a cheerful band of artists who use humour and combine it with their musical abilities. They work on music that involves some of the most iconic references from the horror world. The punk rock band consists of four members- Colin Williams a.k.a Curly Merkin, Vox Hugo Hernandez a.k.a Mexi Merkin, Dwight Imel a.k.a Sleezy Merkin, and Brady Linn, a.k.a Itchy Merkin. Thanks to their satirical lyrics, their live shows make for some of the funniest antics.
Know the band
Together, they have formed a spoof band that comprises five of the most famous frightful personas- Freddy Krueger (‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’), Leatherface (‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’), Michael Myers (‘Halloween’), Ghostface (‘Scream’) as well as Jason Vorhees (‘Friday the 13th’). Their most famous creation was the song ‘I’ll Kill You That Way,’ a spoof of The Backstreet Boys,’ ‘I Want it That Way.’ Two of the Slashstreet Boys’ members, Krueger and Vorhees, are seen together with their brand-new song ‘More than Burns’, a parody of ‘More than Words’ by Extreme.

Why the song is a hit
The song is a little more than five minutes long and features Freddy on the guitar while Jason, who holds his machete in his hand throughout, opens with tremendous vocals. Both the artists sing about their past killings while seeing flashbacks of them terrorising their victims before ending their lives. The video is shot in black and white, and we get a glimpse of the famous signboard that reads “Welcome to Camp Crystal Lake.” The video and song lyrics point to the direction that after Freddy and Jason fought, they are now working on bettering their relations, and Jason wants Freddy to accompany him in the camp killings. Fans have nothing but good things to say about this track, and some have even gone on to say that it is better than the original.
