Some details were recently revealed about Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and one of them got fans quite excited. In addition to Ray Porter (Argo, 2012) joining the cast as super-villain Darkseid, Jared Leto’s Joker will also make an entry. Snyder made it official on Twitter that the new Justice League film will be converging with David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, all thanks to Leto. Although the infamous Joker was nowhere to be seen in 2017’s Justice League, this new cut is a whopping four hours long and will have, along with scenes from the former, some new inclusions, Leto’s Joker being one of them.
His fashion sense may have changed, but he remains as menacing as ever
The first time we saw a Joker teaser was from Snyder on his Twitter handle, a black and white photo of a man holding the joker card. However, the camera was focused almost completely on the menu, blurring out the man altogether. It was only because of Snyder’s caption that we knew it was Jared Leto returning as Joker. Now, first-look images of him in the role have been released, and it looks like he has had a makeover since we last saw him on Suicide Squad. He appears to be wearing a butcher’s costume at a meat shop and looking as sinister as ever, and he sits with a grim look on a chair in these black and white photos. He now has longer hair than he did in Suicide Squad, and his face tattoos are missing.
What fans are saying about these pictures
Leto’s new look is receiving better appreciation than it did the first time, but that did not stop fans from coming up with some funny references with some saying he looks like The Conjuring’s Nun Valak and others going on to say that he seems fit to be on an album cover of Marilyn Manson. Vanity Fair has revealed that Joker will make his big entry in a dream-like sequence of Bruce Wayne (played by Ben Affleck), where he foresees the devasting effects of the dream team failing to stop Darkseid from destroying the Earth.

Why Snyder feels the need to release a second Justice League film
The DC Extended Universe started in 2013 with ‘Man of Steel’ and has probably been one of the very few universes exploring the DC comics onscreen and building some continuity. Most of the DC Comics-based films have not studied a proper timeline of events, and hence, newer fans, which are not as well versed with the comics and animated series from earlier, prefer to stick to the DCEU. Due to a family tragedy, Snyder had to leave the sets of Justice League (2017) midway, and as a result, Joss Whedon had to take over the project. The film not having gone the way Snyder had planned left a dent in not just that film but also the future objectives he had for the DCEU. Now that he can finally bring his own Justice League to fans, the original course of action may be resumed, but this once again leaves an unfinished timeline in the DC movie world as Snyder has made it clear that with these new films, he plans to start from scratch all over again.
