Keep Your Gag Reflex Prepared As Body Horror Thanatomorphose Is Making Its Way To Blu-Ray Soon

While films like The Human Centipede and A Serbian Film are what come to mind when we talk of body horror, it is easy to miss the 2012 Canadian horror Thanotomorphose. Directed and produced by Éric Falardeau, this film has been featured in quite a few film festivals and follows a young girl’s psychological and physical breakdown, literally! After having a rough night of intercourse, the woman finds herself covered in bruises. While they are easy to dismiss at first, they get progressively painful and eventually cover her entire body. Unlike the normal person, her injuries do not heal, instead, they get worse without much probing, and soon, to her horror, she realises that although she still breathes and lives, her body is decomposing like that of a corpse.

    Blu-Ray re-release

Thanks to TetroVideo, Thanotomorphose will now be available on Blu-Ray, and unless you are sure you have the stomach for this, we would suggest staying away from a copy of this film. The continuous descent into a living dead person and maggot infestation are just some of the things shown very, explicitly in this film. It is advisable to have good control over one’s gag reflex before one takes this on.
