Cryptic Tweet Opens Floodgates For A Speculation About The Silent Hills Game From Hideo Kojima

Hideo Kojima fans believe that the PS5 game “Abandoned” is actually a Silent Hills game from Kojima, who is widely known for Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding. Whether or not this is genuine remains to be seen, but Konami has added fuel to the fire with a new tweet that is being seen as a cryptic signal and nod to the rumours.

The tweet isn’t from Konami’s official account, but rather from the Konami merch shop’s account, which just posted a Silent Hill image with the message “coming soon.” On the surface, this appears to be a tease for new Silent Hill merchandise, but given the rumours, Kojima fans can’t help but guess.

What makes all of these guesses even more intriguing is that we’ve been hearing reports for the past year that Kojima, PlayStation, and Konami were teaming up to bring P.T./Silent Hills, the former’s aborted Silent Hill game, back to life.

Horror aficionados were devastated when Konami cancelled Hideo Kojima’s Silent Hills P.T. The incomplete experience remains a beloved gem kept alive by countless fan recreations and tweaks, despite the horror franchise’s overall future being uncertain. With the arrival of the next generation of consoles, numerous media outlets with PS5 systems announced that P.T. was available, only for it to vanish into obscurity once more.

Geoff Keighley, the creator of The Game Awards and Summer Games Fest, as well as a close friend of Hideo Kojima, whom he helped expose Death Stranding, added to the speculation with a cheeky GIF indicating there are some secrets to share.

Take all of this speculation with a grain of salt for the time being. While it appears that there is something going on between Kojima and the mysterious PS5 game Abandoned — and that both Konami and Sony may be involved — for the time being, this is all speculation.
