Kong Is Huge! Godzilla vs. Kong Reveals First Epic Footage

Ever since filmmaker Ishirō Honda first unleashed Godzilla upon the world in 1954, the monster has become one of the most famous pop culture icons. There have been more than thirty films to its name and with many trying to make it big in terms of creating a cinematic universe, Godzilla has succeeded in doing so. It was not until very late that the Japanese film production company, Toho, was comfortable with western filmmakers taking liberty in recreating Godzilla films. Still, after Gareth Edwards’ 2014 release, the film has gained more popularity than ever in Hollywood.

    Godzilla vs Kong

The newest development in the Godzilla franchise is the upcoming Warner Bros. film Godzilla vs. Kong, directed by Adam Wingard and set to be released this year after being delayed from its original date of November 2020 to the COVID-19 pandemic. The story is said to be based on Toho’s Godzilla and Edgar Wallace and Merian C. Cooper’s King Kong, bringing the two monsters together on the big screen and giving the audience a hopefully fulfilling experience and a chance to suspend all disbelief as they watch the two fight it out.

    HBO’s big (short) tease

Starring actors like Millie Bobby Brown and Alexander Skarsgård, this is one of the most awaited movies of the year. It will be hitting the theatres as well as become available on HBO Max starting March 26th. HBO Max even released two-seconds long footage on its official page that fans have already begun analyzing. The video shows Godzilla emerging out of the water and locking horns with Kong, while choppers and planes fly around. This, alone, was enough to amuse the fans and let them know that an action-packed monster-verse film is what they should be expecting.
