When Is Last Light (2022) Releasing?

The debut dates for Peacock’s much-awaited original scripted slate for the second half of 2022 have been announced. This slate features brand-new programming from upcoming dramas, comedies, and children’s shows. The Best Man and Pitch Perfect sequels, Julie Plec’s adaptation of the acclaimed supernatural YA series Vampire Academy, and Matthew Fox’s return to television in Last Light are what we’re most eager to see.

The film Last Light is based on the same-titled book by international bestseller Alex Scarrow, which depicts the tale of a family struggling to survive in a society that has been abruptly thrown into anarchy. On September 8, the show premieres. A narrative of friendship, romance, and peril can be found in Vampire Academy. As they get ready to finish their studies and join vampire society, two young women find camaraderie that transcends their glamorised and privileged worlds. On September 15, the series will debut.

Several years have passed since the release of Pitch Perfect, when Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin takes place. When one of his songs gets famous in Berlin, Adam Devine’s Bumper Allen relocates to Germany in order to resurrect his music career. On Nov. 23, the show will premiere.

The Best Man: The Final Chapters, based on the self-titled Universal film series, catches up with Harper, Robyn, Jordan, Lance, Quentin, Shelby, Candace, and Murch as their relationships change and old grudges come to light during the erratic phases of midlife crisis meets midlife revival. The show debuts on December 22.

The limited drama series Peacock’s Last Light, based on the bestselling book by Alex Scarrow, is scheduled to debut on September 8. Five episodes, each lasting 45 minutes, will be available. In Last Light, Andy Nielson, a petrochemist, learns that his greatest nightmares are coming true when visiting the Middle East since the world’s oil supplies have been cut off. Things start to fall apart and the world devolves into total pandemonium.

The whole cast of Last Light, a new limited series from Peacock that will star Lost actor Matthew Fox and be based on international bestseller Alex Scarrow’s book of the same name, has been revealed. The television show will centre on a family that splits up as the globe devolves into anarchy and the distribution of oil is disrupted globally.

The instant things start to go bad, Nielson must locate his family who are dispersed around Europe. The story leaves viewers wondering who is responsible for the oil crisis and why they decided to wreck such havoc on the globe. Everyone is going to be excited and on the edge of their seats during this suspenseful story as they wait to see if Nielson ever finds his family alive and well while learning who is responsible for everything.

Matthew Fox from Lost, Joanne Froggatt from Downton Abbey, Alyth Ross from Traces and Emerald, Taylor Fay from Judge Rinder and The Making of Alex, Amber Rose Revah from The Punisher, Victor Alli from Belfast and Grantchester, Tom Wlaschiha from Game of Thrones, and Hakeem Jomah from Last Light will all appear in the film (Rashash, Kidnap).

Alyth Ross, who plays Laura Yeats, a devoted and knowledgeable university student determined to address the growing climate change catastrophe and find a solution to protect the earth, is one of the new cast members of Last Light. Unfortunately, Laura’s zeal brings her into conflict with her father, Andy Yeats (Fox), an oil company expert. Sam, an eight-year-old who battles a degenerative eye illness that is gradually robbing him of his sight, will be portrayed by Taylor Fay. As Elena Yeats, a brilliant and compassionate mother who gives up her successful professional career to devote all of her energies to seeking a solution for her son’s sickness, Joanne Froggatt, who was previously unveiled, completes the Yeats family.

Last Light also features Tom Wlaschiha (Game of Thrones, Stranger Things) as Karl Bergmann, a British Government worker with contacts in the Parliament and the MI6; Amber Rose Revah (The Punisher) as Mika Bakhash, whose job it is to ensure energy-related compliance between big oil and the British government; Victor Alli (Belfast, Grantchester) as Owen Jones, a brilliant college student who has been working his way through school, Tom Wlaschiha (Game of Thrones, Stranger Things) as Karl Bergmann, a British Government worker with contacts in the Parliament and the MI6; and Hakeem Jomah (Rashash, Kidnap) as Khalil Al-Qatani, the head of a huge oil company who is committed to moving away from their economic reliance on oil and towards a huge investment in renewable energy resources.

The series will be written and executive produced by Patrick Massett and John Zinman (Friday Night Lights, The Blacklist). Dennie Gordon, who plays Jack Ryan in Last Light, will also executive produce the five one-hour episodes together with Fox, Massett, Zinman, William Choi of Entertainment 360, Sydney Gallonde, Rikke Ennis, Patrick Renault, and Peter Settman.

The director of every episode is Dennie Gordon. Executive producers include John Zinman, William Choi, Diego Piasek, Patrick Massett, Patrick Renault, Gordon, Fox, Sydney Gallonde, and Rikke Ennis. Steven Johnson and Rola Bauer are the co-executive producers, and Veronika Lencova is the producer. The series is being produced by MGM International Television Productions in collaboration with Peacock, Viaplay Group, MBC, and STAN.

Fans can already get a preview of the production from the stunning cinematography in the stills that have been made public; one depicts Andy Nielson in a large Middle Eastern desert, and the other shows Sam and Elena Nielson having a calm time together despite the chaos of the post-apocalyptic world. This little glimpse at the first few episodes of the series has given us a lovely preview of what to anticipate from the fictionalized version of Scarrow’s world.

Though Scarrow has had a fairly diverse artistic career, he is most recognized for his young adult science fiction series TimeRiders. He once played in a grunge band and spent his early years working in the music industry. He then went on to work as a graphic artist on a number of video games, such as The Thing, Waterworld, and Spartan. After finishing with computer games, he tried his hand at screenwriting, but after struggling to break into the industry, he converted one into his debut book, A Thousand Suns. Since then, he has created a number of science fiction books for young adults.

Check out the synopsis of the series below.

Andy Nielsen, a petrochemist, is aware of how reliant the world is on oil. If something were to happen to the oil supply, a series of events would ensue: transportation would halt, supplies would stop being delivered, and law enforcement would be overburdened. Andy discovers that his greatest fears are coming true and that his family is split up at this critical time while on a business trip to the Middle East.

While his wife, Elena, and little son, Sam, are in Paris, his teenage daughter, Laura, is by herself at home in London. Despite the distance and the perils that separate them, each family member will risk everything to locate the others in the midst of this pandemonium. Based on the bestselling book of the same name by Alex Scarrow.
