Lizzo is on the lookout for “confident, badass women to join the elite ranks of the Big Grrrls” in her unscripted series. The Big Grrrls House welcomes ten hopefuls who must prove they have what it takes to join Lizzo on stage.
Legendary choreographer Tanisha Scott and O.G. Big Grrrls Chawnta’ Marie Van, Shirlene Quigley, and Grace Holden, as well as other special guests such as choreographer Charm La’Donna and body movement expert Rashida Khan, assist Lizzo in her hunt, SZA, a multi-platinum singer/songwriter, and Bey Miller.
The eight-episode Amazon Original unscripted series will debut on Prime Video on Friday, March 25. In May 2022, it will be offered in other nations and territories around the world.
Along with Makiah Green, Kevin Beisler, Julie Pizzi, Farnaz Farjam, Myiea Coy, Kimberly Goodman, and Glenda Cox, Lizzo serves as executive producer on the series. Throughout her career, the “Juice” singer has been a proponent of body acceptance, routinely featuring plus-size dancers in her concerts and music videos. In the clip, the twerking expert states, “Girls that look like me don’t get representation.” “It’s time for me to roll up my sleeves and look for them on my own.”
The musician posted on Instagram, “This is the finest moment of my career yet.” “You know how difficult it has been to locate dancers who look like me. But BITCH IMMA DO IT if I have to have a T.V. program to convince the world to understand the importance in us large grrrls.”
