No Second Season – Hbo Pulls The Plug On “Lovecraft Country”

HBO has reportedly decided not to renew “Lovecraft Country” for a second season, according to Deadline. That’s all there is to it.

Lovecraft Country will not be renewed by HBO for a second season, according to HBO. They are appreciative for the talented cast and crew’s passion and artistry, as well as Misha Green’s innovative series. And, of course, they expressed gratitude to the fans for their support.

The series starring Jurnee Smollett and Jonathan Majors gained in popularity thanks to strong word of mouth, with the Season 1 finale achieving a series high audience on HBO (1.5 million) and being the most watched new episode of an original series on HBO Max on its first day of availability. The opening episode had surpassed the 10 million viewer mark by the time the finale was released in October.

Misha Green’s HBO series “Lovecraft Country” was already a departure from Matt Ruff’s original material in many ways, copying most of the book’s storylines but providing a fresh perspective, new sound, and a new confident to the story. If there was a second season, Green and the crew will be venturing into completely unknown territory.

The first season of “Lovecraft Country” finished with crucial deaths and a supernatural ban on white people utilising magic ever again, bringing the plot to a close and implying a brighter future for the individuals who survived.

Green recently told Deadline that she envisions a second season that continues in the spirit of Matt Ruff’s novel by reclaiming the genre storytelling area that has traditionally been ignored by people of colour.

Looks like a second season is completely out of the question for this horror drama TV series. Watch the debut season in case you missed it on HBO subscription for a trip into Lovecraft’s country.
