Lovely Little Farm, an upcoming live-action/animated hybrid series for the whole family, has a new trailer on Apple TV+. The show, which is part of Apple TV’s developing children’s programming, focuses on good interactions between children, animals, and new technologies.
Jill (Levi Howden) and Jacky (Kassidi Roberts), two sisters who adore the animals on their farm, are introduced in the trailer. Jill and Jacky are forced to share a bedroom because their mother is pregnant and their family is increasing. Instead of fighting over the change, the sisters will relish the opportunity to grow closer as they do everything they can to make the farm animals feel at ease in their new home.
Apple TV+ has released the teaser for Darrall Macqueen’s new live-action animation hybrid kids and family series “Lovely Little Farm,” which premieres on Friday, June 10 worldwide. Darrall Macqueen is the London-based BAFTA Award-winning producer of blockbuster programs “Topsy & Tim” and “Teletubbies.”
Aside from Jill and Jacky, the farm is populated by a variety of actual and computer-generated creatures. While some scenes in the trailer suggest that the sisters will be learning how to properly care for real animals, Lovely Little Farm also features computer-generated animals that can speak, including a cute little duckling (voiced by Shirley Henderson) who is reason enough to watch the show once it airs.
Maddy Darrall (“Teletubbies,” “Topsy & Tim,” “Waffle the Wonder Dog”) and Billy Macqueen (“Teletubbies,” “Topsy & Tim,” “Waffle the Wonder Dog”), along with Catherine Williams, created “Lovely Little Farm” (“Teletubbies,” “Topsy & Tim,” “Waffle the Wonder Dog”). Tony Cooke (“PJ Masks,” “Waffle the Wonder Dog,” “Hunter Street”), who is also the lead writer, joins Darrall and Macqueen as executive producers. Jack Jameson, a two-time Director’s Guild Award winner, is the principal director (“When You Wish Upon A Pickle,” “Waffle the Wonder Dog”). BAFTA Award nominee Shirley Henderson (“Harry Potter” franchise, “Stan & Ollie”) voices Quackety Duck Duck, Dominique Moore (“Thomas & Friends”) voices Pickle Pony, SAG Award nominee Joel Fry (“Cruella,” “Paddington 2”) voices Al Alpaca, and Canan Yildiz-Husbands voices Bif & Bop.
‘Lovely Little Farm’ follows sisters Jill and Jacky as they care for and cherish the animals on their lavender-growing farm. Being a young farmer isn’t easy, but each day provides new challenges and opportunities for these sisters. To bring the series to life, the live-action animation hybrid leverages the latest computer-generated technologies in collaboration with Industrial Light & Magic.
Apple TV+ collaborated on “Lovely Little Farm” with changemaker Dr. Gail Melson, a pioneer in the field of Human-Animal Interaction and former Professor Emerita in Purdue University’s Department of Human Development & Family Studies. Based on her studies on children’s relationships with animals, nature, and developing technologies, Dr. Melson collaborated with the executive producers to create the show.
Dominique Moore as Pickle Pony, Joel Fry as Al Alpaca, and Canan Yildiz-Husbands as Bif & Bop round out the vocal cast for Lovely Little Farm. Darrall, Macqueen, and head writer Tony Cooke are among the other executive producers. Jack Jameson, a two-time Director’s Guild Award winner, is the film’s principal director.
