Marmaduke, a new animated film starring J.K. Simmons, Pete Davidson, David Koechner, Shelby Young, and Tania Gunadi, will be released on Netflix in select territories in May 2022, including the United States and the United Kingdom.
The new feature film, produced by Andrews McMeel Entertainment and Legacy Classics, is 88 minutes long and follows the famous canine as he trains for and eventually competes in the Westminster Championship.
The film is based on a newspaper comic strip about a family and their Great Dane named Marmaduke that ran from 1954 to the present. Brad Anderson started it, and it’s still going strong.
The comic strip has previously been converted into a family comedy, which was released by Twentieth Century Fox in 2010. Owen Wilson, Emma Stone, and George Lopez were among the cast members of that live-action remake.
The animated feature picture was supposed to be out in 2020, but it was postponed owing to the global epidemic.
Mark A.Z. Dippé, Matt Philip Whelan, and Youngkin Lee direct Marmaduke.
Pete Davidson, who plays Marmaduke in Saturday Night Live, leads the cast as the titular character.
Zeus is played by J.K. Simmons (Whiplash, Spider-Man), Phil is played by David Koechner (Anchorman, The Office), Shantrelle is played by Shelby Young, Dottie is played by Julie Nathanson (Great Pretender), and Barbara is played by Erin Fitzgerald (Ask the Storybots).
Tania Gunadi, Stephen Stanton, Brian Hull, Andrew Morgado, and Terri Douglas are among the other voices heard throughout the film.
A television series based on the IP is apparently in the works, according to the Legacy Classics website. It’s unknown whether that will be released on Netflix like the movie is, but it’s thought that this film will be the first of a “re-launch of the MARMADUKE brand,” with further films, and TV shows, and products in the works.

Marmaduke is set to premiere on Netflix (as a Netflix Original) in many countries on May 6th, 2022, including the United States and the United Kingdom. The film is also planned to have a limited theatrical distribution in some areas.
Netflix US offers three different subscription plans, with prices varying depending on the number of concurrent streams, downloaded devices, and HD options.
The basic package is now $9.99 per month (up from $8.99), the standard tier is $15.49 per month (up from $13.99), and the 4K tier is $19.99 per month (up from $17.99). Netflix will now charge up to roughly $20 per month for access to its service, marking a big milestone for the streaming giant.
Basic and Standard plans will see a £1 hike for Netflix UK, while the Premium plan will see a £2 increase.

The Basic plan will now cost £6.99 per month and will allow users to view Netflix on one screen at a time while downloading to one phone or tablet.
The Standard package, which allows customers to watch Netflix on two screens at once and download to two phones or tablets, will now cost £10.99 per month. There will be HD streaming as well.
The Premium plan will now cost £15.99 per month, and customers will be able to view Netflix on four screens at once, as well as download content on four phones or tablets. Streaming will be available in both HD and Ultra HD formats.
