Molly Poppinz of Drag Race Down Under Season 2 found her confidence in Vancouver.

In her hometown of Newcastle, the 30-year-old drag queen found it difficult to perform in drag, but she established a name for herself in Vancouver. Her acceptance by the Canadian queer community gave her the security and trust she had been lacking to perform in front of the crowd.

Molly took a hiatus and performed exclusively as a drag performer from 2016 to 2019. Variety reports that the Drag Race Down Under competitor is well known for her goofy and campy performances. In fact, Molly performs in drag as an MC, DJ, and live rapper.

Molly received the title of Vancouver’s Fiercest Queen in 2018. She received her award from Aja, who was a former Drag Race competitor who appeared in Seasons 9 and 3 of Drag Race All Stars.

The Drag Race Down Under contestant from Season 2 visited Australia in 2019. She went right back to Newcastle, where she was raised. Sadly, there were no facilities for the LGBT members of the community. To establish a strong drag community in Newcastle, Molly was inspired to launch her own events.

She rather went on to say that if someone is truly motivated to pursue a career as a drag queen only then they should give it a try and see where it leads them.
