Top 8 Most Powerful Ultrazords In Power Rangers – Backstories Explored

You may like it or dislike it, but there’s no doubting that Power Rangers has had a massive following over the years. If a concept has been entertaining audiences for more than two decades and is still current, then it must be something remarkable!

One of the pleasures of the franchise, which spans several TV shows and films, has been the colorful uniforms and dramatic fights. A true Power Ranger fan will tell you how thrilling it is to see the Mega Rangers battle the Warstar, an insectoid military organization bent on wiping out a planet’s inhabitants.

This leads us to one of the most intriguing features of Power Rangers: the Ultra Zords, which are easily one of the most powerful things you’ll ever see. We show you the hardest and mightiest of the bunch in this movie, the ones who make the battles look so great! It’s time to buckle up and summon your beastly abilities for this one, because things are about to get real!

    Thunder Ultrazord

    Thunder Ultrazord

For this one, you have to turn the clocks back to the time when the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers entertained us. This live-action TV and movie series covered the first team of Power Rangers on Earth, and they had to take on the mighty witch Rita Repulsa, who escaped her confines with her evil minions.

The Thunder Ultrazord was easily the most powerful Zord configuration out there, and it was the combination of White Tigerzord, Thunderzord Assault Team, and Tor the Shuttlezord in its turtle form. The Thunderzord Assault Team would haul themselves up on Tor’s back and the Tigerzord would be positioned inside Tor’s shell.

If you remember the Dino Ultrazord, then you surely can recall its unique method of raining lasers on the enemy. However, the Thunder Ultrazord had a very different mode of attack, where it would twirl its staff like a helicopter rotor, which would then lift the Zord before slamming it down on the enemy. Even the mightiest of monsters would be crushed under that impact, and it was a pity that the supremely powerful Thunder Ultrazord was only called upon three times.

    RPM Ultrazord

    RPM Ultrazord

Power Rangers RPM certainly captured our imaginations with its fine storyline. The plot is premised in the near future, and the evil Venjix Computer Network is trying to take over the planet. They used technology and pollution to accomplish their mission, but humanity found a way to fight back – courtesy of the elite Power Rangers who must quickly get used to drive some advanced biotech vehicles so that they can stand a chance against the attacking machines of Venjix.

The Paleozord was developed by Doctor K, the genius scientist behind many of the fine technologies and arsenal used by the RPM Rangers. The Paleozord was formed after the Zord was reconfigured from its standard form and because it was based on extinct creatures, it had some configuration issues initially.

The Mammoth car forms the torso, head, and arms, and the Triceratops and the T-Rex act as the right and left legs. The RPM Ultrazord was extremely powerful, and this mean machine could blow away the enemies effortlessly with a powerful gust of air from the Mammoth car’s nose. It was not the fastest out there, but the shortcoming was easily overshadowed by its overwhelming power! It surely was a lot of fun to watch this one in action!

    Drivemax Ultrazord

    Drivemax Ultrazord

The best part about most of the Ultrazords that we saw, was the amazing combinations that were put together to create them. In this regard, DriveMax Ultrazord certainly steals the show, because it is the combination of all the DriveMax Zords from 1 to 10, and combines the Sonic Streaker with the Super DriveMax Megazord.

The combination looked breathtaking on screen, and the sheer power of the DriveMax Ultrazord was enough to entertain the fans. It had the power of flight, and it could reach speeds of up to Mach 3.5! There was a solar panel located on its chest, and it could shoot powerful energy blasts at the enemy, destroying them.

    Ninja Ultrazord

    Ninja Ultrazord

Do you remember the giant brachiosaurus, Carrierzord, which was used by the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers? It used to respond to the call of the Rangers and it could fire powerful blasts from its mouth. The Ninja Ultrazord was formed when the Ninja MegaFalconzord combined with the Carrier Zord Titanus. It had the ability to use the tail and the chestplate of the Dragonzord, and what made it so powerful was the way it could combine the power of all seven Zords together. The Ninja Ultrazord could fire from the mounted blasters on its shoulder and mouth. It was not really used much, and we only really saw it in action against the Face Stealer.

    Super Zeo Ultrazord

    Super Zeo Ultrazord

The Zeo Rangers derived their powers from the Zeo Crystal, which was a magically powerful object with tons of energy. The Rangers used this power against the Machine Empire, comprised of the robotic villains who planned to conquer the entire galaxy. These Rangers used the Zeo Ultrazord, which was formed with all the five Zeo Zords, the Red Battlezord, and the Pyramidas.

The Pyramids was basically a massive pyramid which could take on an interstellar flight, while also shooting powerful lightning bolts. The Super Zeo Ultrazord could utilize the power of all the seven Zords, and it could be formed in two ways. One of the methods called the Carrier Mode had all the six Zords on top of the Pyramidas, and it was much faster than the other mode called the Warrior Mode.

In this mode, the Pyramidas stood up on its side and the Zeo Zords simply moved into the compartments inside it. This was more powerful, and it was bigger than the giant Megazord-sized monsters. With the power to fire insane amounts of energy, it was quite a handful when used in battles.

    Hurricane Ultrazord

    Hurricane Ultrazord

When the Hurricane Megazord rides on the Mammothzord, the Hurricane Ultrazord is formed. The Mammothzord was previously a part of Ninja folklore, but later it was activated by the Ranger’s power disks. The Hurricane Megazord has the ability to utilize all the power of the Ranger Storm Zords, and also the Power Spheres, which makes it an invincible machine.

It was seen being used against the Hyper Zurganezord, which turned out to be even more powerful than the Hurricane Megazord. It was seen in action in the season Ninja Storm, and the few episodes where it appeared were truly worth the wait. The combination looked quite appealing, and the laser blasts could deal some serious damage.

    Fusion Ultrazord

    Fusion Ultrazord

The Fusion Ultrazord is formed with a combination, where the Dimetro Blazing Zord, Mosa Razor Zord, T-Rex Champion Zord, and Mosa Razor Zord come together. The T-Rex Fist becomes the left arm, the Mosa Fist becomes the right arm, and the Fusion Ultrazord comes together, exactly how its name suggests! It can use fire, water, and lightning abilities to strike down its enemy, and the hurricane-like blasts from its shoulder cannon can also cause significant damage. It is capable of a deadly Fusion Ultra Strike, where it uses blue lightning and fire to create severe chomping energy. We saw the Fusion Ultrazord in Dino Fury, and it was certainly worth all the hype!

The mind-blowing universe of the Power Rangers is so extensive that it keeps throwing up a few surprises every now and then. It never gets dull while watching two powerful forces battle each other using the finest weapons and technology, and this is probably the reason that the franchise has developed into something so iconic over the years.
