The true story behind the founding of Merging Vets & Players, which Boyer co-founded with Jay Glazer in order to empower and connect combat veterans and former professional athletes and give them a new team to help with the transition to civilian life and promote personal development, is the basis for the Sylvester Stallone-executive produced film “MVP.”

The movie is set in the streets of Hollywood and follows the development of a friendship between a homeless soldier with PTSD and a struggling recently retired NFL star (Mo McRae) (Boyer). Along with Tom Arnold, Rich Eisen, Dan Lauria, Randy Couture, Tony Gonzalez, Howie Long, Jarrod Bunch, and Michael Strahan, the film also stars Talia Jackson, Christina Ochoa, and Dina Shihabi.
