Super-popular anime series “My Hero Academia,” tells the story of a young boy named Izuku Midoriya who dreams of becoming a superhero one day.
The story is set in a world where the number of “quirks,” newly discovered superpowers, has steadily increased over the years, with 80 per cent of humanity possessing various powers, including element manipulation and shapeshifting. Due to this, the rest of the world is powerless, and Izuku Midoriya is one of those powerless individuals.
He has always wanted to be a hero since he was a child. Izuku’s unjust fate leaves him admiring heroes and taking notes on them whenever he can. But it seems that his persistence has paid off: Izuku meets his idol and number one hero, All Might. The quirk of All Might can be inherited, and he has chosen Izuku to be his successor!
A few months after completing gruelling training, Izuku enrols at UA High, a prestigious high school known for its excellent hero training program, and this year’s freshmen look especially promising. With his bizarre but talented classmates and the looming threat of a villainous organization, Izuku will soon learn what it really means to be a hero.
He quickly finds himself facing off against the League of Villains and other enemies as he tries to protect his friends, allies, and innocents from their desire for power and control.
Produced by Bones animation studio, My Hero Academia is based on a manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Kouhei Horikoshi. “My Hero Academia” has had five seasons so far, with Season 6 already in the works.
