My Isekai Life – Everything We Know So Far

Anime is well-known for taking viewers into unique and vibrant worlds that rapidly remove any sense of stagnation or boredom. It’s a tale of sublime escapism. Ultimately, the Isekai genre is where anime’s escapism achieves its pinnacle. The Isekai genre is a little meta because its characters are real people who literally transport into fantastical worlds.

However, the manner in which these protagonists leave their everyday lives does not always leave us thirstily gulping from the cup of envy. For example, after suffering the most humiliating death in anime history, Kazuma Sato from “KonoSuba” is transported to his new world.

However, if we’re anything like the overworked protagonist in this story, leaving the actual world for another isn’t such a horrible idea.

The hero of the light novel series by author Shinkoshoto and illustrator Huuka Kazabana gets transported after accepting a request on his computer by accident. The blunder sets in motion a long and fruitful adventure for the hero, which will be depicted in the upcoming “My Isekai Life” anime series.

Here’s what we’ve learned so far.

When will My Isekai Life be released?

When will My Isekai Life be released

The first details about the anime adaptation of “My Isekai Life” surfaced in early 2021. However, aside from revealing the project’s existence, there was little information provided in terms of an official release date. However, we now have a clearer idea of when the anime will be released. “My Isekai Life” is set to be released in Summer 2022, specifically in July 2022. However, there isn’t a concrete release date yet, but it shouldn’t be too long before we have a release date in our hands.

The wait won’t be too long for fans, as Square Enix Manga & Books had announced that official English translations of the manga will begin in December 2021, giving fans something to read while they wait for the anime to debut. At the very least, the manga should help to alleviate the anticipation for the upcoming anime.

In My Isekai Life, who are the characters?

In My Isekai Life, who are the characters

Yuji Sanno is the main character in the original light novel series. Yuji works for a “black company,” which is a type of business that is excessively exploitative of its employees to the point of exhaustion, as defined by the Japanese.

Yuji reluctantly trades his old life for a new, more dangerous one, and it is there that he transforms from a corporate drone to one of the most powerful magical wielders. For the most part, Yuji is the only character in this story. He has his many, many slimes, and he meets a nice, burly adventurer, but generally speaking, he’s just puttering around interacting with isekai staples.

What is My Isekai Life’s plot?

What is My Isekai Life's plot

It appears that the plot for the “My Isekai Life” anime isn’t deviating too far from its original material, according to the official anime site. The story begins with Yuji being transported into a fantasy world, where he is initially trapped as a tamer.

Tamers are the weakest of the classes, yet they prove to be the best for Yuji. Yuji becomes one of the most powerful sages after taming many slime creatures who are able to absorb so much magical knowledge. The anime will most likely focus on Yuji’s response to gaining so much power in such a short period of time.

Yuji is also involved in a number of quests in the light novel series. Some of his main adventures in the novels, such as meeting Dryad, conversing with his animal companion wolf, and facing massive threats like dragons and evil guilds, are likely to be animated. It’s also likely that the series may dive into how and why Yuji ends up in his fantasy world in the first place.
