What Caused The Delay For Stranger Things Season 4?

Stranger Things has been off the air for over two years since the last season premiered on Netflix. Needless to say, we’re eager to return to Hawkins, Indiana and find out what happened to our pals and what happened to Hopper. Thankfully, we just have to wait until next year, as Netflix has officially released a new ad teasing the successful sci-fi series’ comeback!

When we last saw Stranger Things, Hopper had been slain, and the Byers family had abandoned Hawkins, leaving Eleven defenceless. The second season will feature returning characters as well as new locales and characters, including horror veteran Robert Englund as Victor Creel, a troubled murder suspect imprisoned in a psychiatric facility.

Season 4 is shaping up to be the largest and most terrifying season yet, and they cannot wait for everyone to see it, the Duffer Brothers stated in February. The making of this season took twice as long as the seasons we have seen before and the reason is as follows.

Since July 2019, fans have been waiting for information regarding the next season as well as a release date. The production team has always prioritised quality above speed, which has resulted in significant gaps between seasons in the past, but things have taken much longer this time around. It’s critical to acknowledge the magnitude of Stranger Things season 4’s scope. The show has been based in Georgia until now, but season 4 has left Hawkins behind, resulting in a number of location shots all over the world. In late 2019, the actors and crew headed to Vilnius, Lithuania, to film sequences about Hopper’s escape from a Russian prison.

They’re presently filming at Netflix’s studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where they’re shooting a large amountof season 4. Naturally, overseas production takes longer. There’s also the issue of the coronavirus pandemic to consider. Filming began in February 2020, but all Netflix projects came to a halt in March and Stranger Things didn’t restart production until November.

In any case, we can’t wait to see the new season in 2022!
