New Netflix Series ‘Clickbait’ Is All Set To Come To Your Screens In August

Netflix has released a scary teaser trailer for Clickbait, its new techno-horror series. Is it all a ruse to increase the number of clicks?

Clickbait’s trailer is both strange and intriguing–not to mention frightening! Take a look at the trailer and learn more about the film below.

Nick Brewer is a devoted father, husband, and brother who inexplicably vanishes one day. A video of Nick, who has been severely battered, appears on the internet, holding a card that reads, “I mistreat women.” I die at 5 million views.” Is this a threat or an admission of guilt? Or perhaps both? As his sister and wife race to find and save him, they discover a side of Nick that they were unaware of.

Clickbait is a compelling, high-stakes thriller that explores the ways in which our most dangerous and uncontrollable impulses are fueled in the age of social media, revealing the ever-widening fractures we find between our virtual and real-life personas. It is an eight-episode limited series told from revolving points of view.

The trailer is tense and fast paced and we hope that it is replicates in the series itself. Some notable techno horror moments have come from Black Mirror and this seems to be treading on similar territory.

Matchbox Pictures and Tony Ayres Productions (TAP), both located in Australia, collaborated with Heyday Television to create the Netflix series. NBCUniversal International Studios, a branch of Universal Studio Group, owns all three enterprises. Tony Ayres is the Showrunner, Executive Producer, and Creator of the show. Christian White is a writer, co-creator, and co-producer. The Lead Director is Brad Anderson. Through his production firm, Heyday Television, David Heyman is a NWEP. Heyday Television’s Executive Producer is Tom Winchester.

Clickbait will be available on Netflix on August 25th!
