Netflix Gears Up For Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness By Adding ‘Afterlife’ And ‘Extinction’ To The Story

Netflix will release not one but two original Resident Evil projects with its animated series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness – Afterlife and Extinction. The series will hit the screens in July, 2021. Netflix is also working on a live-action series.

Resident Evil: Afterlife and Resident Evil: Extinction are set to release on Netflix on May 2.

Plot of Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness

The story of Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is seemingly taking place over two timelines. The first one involves two 14 year old sisters: Jade and Billie Wesker who are moving to Raccoon City. The sisters realize that their father might be concealing secrets so dark that it could annihilate the world.

In the second timeline, there is a time skip of over a decade in the future where only 15 million humans remain. There are over 6 billion animals and people have been infected by the T-Virus. In this timeline, Jade, who is now thirty, tries to survive in the grim world.
