There’s a lot of content from Alien 5 on show. In the midst of a storm, we have a queen alien. Hicks is defending himself against a monster. Something is being planned by Ripley and Hicks. a platform for offshore facilities, a vertical take-off and landing aircraft and, a smart-gun wielding, Ripley. An android’s gland has been removed. A power loader is being used to transport munitions as well as explosives corroding in storage.
Neil Blomkamp had planned on making an Alien movie. Alien 5 was supposed to be the title and it was supposed to carry on the creature feature universe. It was cancelled, and we were left with Alien: Covenant, a solid but rather unsatisfying alien storey. Geoffroy Thoorens, a concept artist, has removed part of his work from the shelved project. We’re going to show you those photos, and we’ll both be impressed.

The plot of Neill Blomkamp’s proposed fifth Alien film was hailed as a modern Don Quixote tale, a Melvillian tale of one man’s cinematic white whale. Though he appeared to have studio backing and Sigourney Weaver’s blessing, excitement for Alien 5 was short-lived when franchise maestro Ridley Scott declared his plan to expand the concept with his own prequel flicks.
We now have so much concept art and information regarding Alien 5 that we could definitely manufacture it ourselves with some effort and some fan is hopefully working to turn this cancelled project into a YouTube reality.
We’re disappointed that we didn’t get to witness Blomkamp’s full vision for Alien 5 because of the great concept art. He would have skipped over Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection in favour of a brand-new tale with legendary Alien characters.
What are your thoughts on these concept images? Would you have liked to see Alien 5?
