Were you a fan of the Dungeons & Dragons Saturday morning animation from the 1980s, which premiered on CBS in 1983 and ran until 1985? Then this should be wonderful news for you. One or more characters from the original animated series will appear in the new Dungeons & Dragons adventure.
Multiple characters from the animation will appear in The Wild Beyond the Witchlight, an upcoming D&D adventure set largely in the Feywild. Several characters from D&D’s past will feature in the adventure, according to main narrative designer Chris Perkins. He claims that this adventure contains many references to the past, including references to the D&D cartoon. We’ll also see one or two characters from the first season of the show.
Perkins omitted information on which characters will appear in the next adventure. Warduke, Strongheart, and Kelek will all appear in the game, according to a recent data sheet for the book published by Wizards of the Coast. All three characters appeared in the Dungeons & Dragons animation and were part of the D&D action figure series in the 1980s.

From 1983 through 1985, the Dungeons & Dragons animation aired on CBS as part of the network’s Saturday morning cartoon block. A bunch of kids from the real world are transported to a magical world replete with D&D monsters and characters. A character known as the Dungeon Master then bestows abilities on this party and they attempt to find a way home. The terrible wizard Venger and the dragon goddess Tiamat are two of the cartoon’s villains.
It’s unclear whether Venger or the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon heroes will appear in the upcoming adventure.
