Young Trio Added To The Growing Cast List Of Upcoming Film – Evil Dead Rise

Evil Dead Rise, the latest instalment in the Evil Dead franchise, has brought in some new blood. Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, and Nell Fisher will join Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland in the Bruce Campbell-less sequel, according to New Line. It’s still unclear who they’ll be portraying.

The new Evil Dead film, Evil Dead Rise, is set in the city. The days of the forest cabin are long gone. In this new instalment, two sisters (Sutherland and Sullivan) will battle the familiar deadites in a city setting.  The two estranged sisters’ reunion is cut short when the all too well-known flesh-possessing demons thrust them into a battle for survival. The new film is now under production and will premiere on HBO Max in 2022.

Sam Raimi and Campbell hand-picked Irish director Lee Cronin to carry on the Evil Dead tradition in all its gory glory. In terms of the new young performers, Davies is an Australian who rose to prominence for his portrayal of a trans boy in the TV series The End. Fisher is a newcomer to the industry, and Northspur, a post-apocalyptic action picture, will be her first movie. In Warner Bros.’ sci-fi film Reminiscence, Echols will make her feature film debut.

If you’re worried that this is too different from Evil Dead, don’t be. Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell, the original dynamic combination, are back as executive producers. In any case, we needed to get the horror out of the woods. Modernization appears to be in order.

This will be the fifth instalment in the Evil Dead film series. Raimi revealed in October 2019 that a new film was in the works, with Campbell producing and Cronin scripting and directing. Along with HBO Max, New Line Cinema has been named as the film’s distributor.
